I think Kinda Funny becomes more impressive by the year. The way they’ve kept a crew together and grown and kept it independent is awesome. We had to sell the company to the very thing we were trying to escape. Different times and different options, but they’ve succeeded where we failed.

Although my use for it is primarily for gaming, the #aw3225qf monitor works better than I expected with my MacBook Pro. Even the display settings are very similar to the built in macOS options.

In the week or so I’ve been on #fastmail (including registering a personal domain with Cloudflare), I really like this setup.

Why is there no Apple Music widget in Sonoma? Especially considering there is one for iOS.

No plans on upgrading this year but it’s getting annoying that I keep ending up with the iPhones with battery issues (iPhone 12, 14).

This new VPN On Demand feature in Tailscale is EXACTLY what I’ve needed for a while now.

No matter what PC I’ve tried I find that the Microsoft Store takes forever to start updating an app, even just dowloading the update takes a very long time.

My Twitter feeds these days is pretty much devoid of all interesting conversation as well.

I’m at the point where I think I’d rather be blissfully ignorant to whether or not my various OLED devices (TV, Phone, etc) have burn in. I’m not going to run any tests because once it’s seen I’ll never unsee it.

If Baldur’s Gate 3 performs even remotely decent on the Steam Deck I’ll be buying the PC version.

Now that the wait list has been removed from Arc browser it has inspired me to give it another shot.

Slowly seeing more and more people pop up here on Bluesky.

So far every time I’ve changed carriers on my phone using eSIM I’ve had to explain to the carrier representative how the process is supposed to work.

I like Bluesky well enough but it feels like things need to start moving along quicker in terms of opening access to the masses.

Yeah, this. It’s been weird watching people talk shit about Mastodon/ActivityPub on here because this doesn’t seem like it’ll be all that different than that, once it’s all said and done. We’ll see!

One thing I like about Bluesky vs Twitter is that on Twitter when my tweets don’t get much engagement I’m always wondering if my reach is being throttled by one of Musk’s pernicious algorithms, whereas on Bluesky if my posts don’t get much engagement I can rest assured it’s because they are shit.

Based on the previews I think I’m ready to jump into the iOS 17 beta.

In a perfect world I’d be able to use the Ivory client for all of the timelines I want to be able to easily keep up with. Similar to how sky bridge works.

I am also now using Sky Bridge to access my BlueSky account via Ivory which is working great as well so far.

Bluesky seems fine so far but man is the app icon awful. Hopefully that changes even via alternative app icons.

I’ve gotten so good at not opening Twitter on my phone that it’s starting to send notifications about other people’s tweets, like “hey, uh, come look at this tweet, it’s good!” Never seen those before.
