Are clown eggs, with a goopy filling encased in a hard crust, the origin of custard pie gags?

Weird way to say you got married but ok
These examples make it sound like some sort of clown-specific dialect
Ha! The saltiest debate.
I appreciate you sharing the fun ones! It's very much at the intersection of my interests and I had no idea the project existed before
Thank you for reporting back on this movie... I never had any urge to watch it before but now I know I actively don't want to see it
Seriously! I felt so good coming out of the theater and that was unexpected.
I finally got around to seeing Project Hail Mary today, and... I needed that
I see comments about social media dying and I don't agree.
I never wanted the algorithmic feeds that are now at the forefront of most other platforms. I mostly want to interact with the people I follow; I can search if I want more. For me, bluesky feels more like a return to social media's origins.
I have never lived in London or NYC but in both cities I have been behind someone who did this and been like "ugh, fuckin' tourists" ... like yes, I too am visiting but I know not to do that
(Ingredients will still be listed, of course, because food allergies exist.)
A few years ago, we took what we labeled "spicy brownies" (with chili powder) to a friend's potluck. Many people thought "spicy" meant "contains the devil's lettuce" and avoided them.
Same friend's potluck today. Brownies again - but this time, "regular brownies" because they contain puréed prunes.
...how
Both forms of magic are really the result of people working very hard. But that's still pretty great to see.
It was really cool to see how popular this scarf was tonight, and hearing folks ask where they could get one.
And then the match. Nobody told the Thorns that a wildly inconsistent ref and being down two players was an unwinnable situation, I guess?
Two very different forms of magic in the stadium.
I definitely came home and cuddled my cat a little more. The death of pets is so difficult.
There's a strange grief in passing the house where an affectionate neighborhood cat used to greet you every morning, and seeing that his empty carrier has been put out on the curb, with the animal hospital intake sticker still attached to the side.
My throat got really irritated as a side effect of being intubated.
I'm glad it's starting to feel better because like 80% of the food that I enjoy eating is spicy and/or acidic, and... ow.
Job hunting is horrible and I think it's totally reasonable to complain. Fingers crossed that you get some good news soon!
On a related note, the anti-Merritt chants were much louder than at other matches I've been to recently
I am always amazed when this happens, but I've seen it a bunch... so many people with a lot of money to spare must just be completely unaware of how well off they are
Recovering from another surgery.
I was going to say I kinda hoped to wake up and discover that this timeline was just a crappy anesthesia dream, but yesterday I saw Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die so I wonder if that experience would've just freaked me out...
I made it home; he inspected my incisions and is now doing his best to look after me.
I'll be fair. He gets really stressed out by vet visits, and he was extra affectionate when we brought him home. I think that's a good trade.
Took my cat for his annual vet checkup the day before my own surgery because I want him to stay healthy too. I guess he didn't get the memo about mutual support, because he hasn't offered to be my ride home or anything.
It's been fun watching the robocallers get used to the android equivalent over the years... these days they mostly hang up as soon as it answers lol
Mine depends on the audience... either an NWSL head coach or an associate of a serial killer.
Different people, to be clear. Although I suppose I don't know who Seb Hines hangs out with.
I'm used to healthcare in this country now but the structure still feels weird. Especially separate bills from the facility and each "independent contractor" provider involved in imaging, surgery, etc. Layers of administrative friction that just add unnecessary cost. I get why, but it's irritating.
Brains are hard (and yet also so squishy) but you can do it
Yeah, though I feel like I have to be better at turning down free food that like... isn't actually good?
