You covered so much already but, speaking of tweets, I can feel my brain cry whenever I see "reporting" on a significant news event that embeds social media posts by, well, anybody really, but esp just random accts reacting to an issue, as though including hot takes = interviewing and due diligence.
Well stated. And the care and time that accuracy and precision require are certainly not helped by algorithmic capitalism, where outrage bait, whatever the political shading, rises to the top of any sort of automated "suggested for you" content.
This is a rabbit hole I did not intend to explore today, but wow.
Went to AAG in Detroit this week, tagged along to the Clark party, got to watch the sun set over the Detroit River from the 72nd floor--and contemplate swimming to Canada...
Last week, Feb 13th, was the first anniversary of Walter's death. It's been a mess of a year, and I miss him every moment of every day--especially so, as he was instrumental in my weathering our previous authoritarian cavalcade. I could use his goofy calm right about now.
I have a bunch of accts left over from Twitter that I should delete, but they were also from various projects I did, so they're kind of like documentation. I dunno. Weird world we've got here, ehh?
Boy, do I miss those eyebrows.
I feel like whatever else I do on yet another social media acct, I should begin by lamenting that Walter is no longer with me. He got me through the worst BS last time. It's gonna be a lot harder this time around without him.
