I'm working on a new version of my TV-B-Gone kit. It will use an ESP32 chip. I just finished the code last night. It will be easy to re-program (using the free Arduino software), add new Off-Codes, and easier to the solder new hardware. Totally Open Hardware, of course:

What are you using for the IR emitters? You may want to consider using some flavor of Everlight IR333 (doesn't matter which flavor) -- they are super bright! Probably worth having a through-hole part.
