Anyone remember what the international outrage was during the '06 World Cup in Germany? Tourists finding out that you needed a euro to access public bathrooms. Times have changed.
“It was like every single pitch had some stupid sound effect,” he said. “It was just so obnoxious.”
“They’ve turned it into a nightclub."
Thoughts? What is your take on the @yankees.com gameday experience?
Well-played, @zeit.de and Ben Wiseman.

This is Julian Garcia’s last masterpiece on the back page for the Daily News. He was the latest in a long line of caretakers for this New York City institution. He earned the right to be considered one of the greats with wordplay like this over the years. A sad day for the DN sports team. 👏
Starting to get pumped for the DU-Wisconsin game tomorrow. Here is a look back at when I was covering the team for the student newspaper and we opened the season vs. the Badgers. They got the best of us then, but it was one of the great rivalries of WCHA days. Hoping for a better outcome in Vegas.

John Oliver put this on our radar when he made fun of the detective's name earlier this year ... this was a good watch.
Today in PR pitch fails. ... "Hi Andy, I caught your recent coverage of the Blue Jays move to Buffalo and appreciated how you highlighted the local impact on New York fans. It was a great local lens." ... This was a story from six years ago.

Yankees to Daily News: IT'S BEEN COLD BEFORE
“We didn’t feel like we were getting into temperatures that were dangerous for fans or anything like that.
"It’s April in New York. This happens often."
“So although we didn’t win, I can swallow it because we lost to a really good human being and a good team that represent women’s basketball well.” - Dawn Staley, the legendary coach of South Carolina after the loss to Cori Close and UCLA.
Terrific piece here from the @nydailynews.com Nets beat writer C.J. Holmes on rookie Drake Powell. Definitely worth your time today.
Mike Lupica asks ... "So here is a big question for Knicks fans — one of many — as their team is still holding out hope of passing the Celtics and at least getting the No. 2 seed:
Just how often has their championship-or-bust team looked like it has a championship in it this season?"
Yankee Stadium executive chef Robert Flowers and his culinary squad spent the offseason creating a star-studded, rookie-dominated menu to impress fans starting on Friday afternoon when the Bombers return to the Bronx to face the Marlins in the ‘26 home opener at the Stadium.
Heading to Opening Day with the Yankees today … what are you planning to eat?
Good stuff here from Leander as don't forget how many times the USMNT won the World Cup after a lackluster lead up ... wait, now I'm being told the USMNT has never won the World Cup. Oh well ... still worth a read if you are feeling nervous about American hopes this summer.
I spoke with Yankee Stadium executive chef Robert Flowers on Tuesday as he unveiled the new menu items being offered up in the Bronx this season.
“I think we hit it out of the park with this one," Flowers told me about the new menu.
