Web Day Out - 12 March 2026 — Polytechnic On March 12th I had the pleasure of attending Clearleft's latest conference, Web Day Out, in beautiful Brighton.

I’m a huge fan of both the book and the audiobook (which is incredible if you haven’t given it a listen) so I was nervous, but they’ve really done it justice.

Project Hail Mary was everything I hoped it would be. What a wonderful adaptation.

I'm sharing this here, as I have on Facebook and Instagram, but there's no account on here to share from, and I just think this is wonderful.

A really good balance of design and implementation, and appears to achieve everything it set out to do, and it *SO* appeals to my inner 'work nerd'.

This kind of versatility doesn't get enough credit IMO because it's considered more critically respectable to maintain a distinctive style and keep returning to the same themes.
