Happy to share our new publication where we show the importance of dissolved Mn(III) in a seasonally euxinic marine system. We applied a reactive transport model to our field data to discern different processes that are impacted by Mn(III).

Last week we investigated metal and greenhouse gas dynamics around Svalbard as part of my Veni project. Very proud to have led the hard working and enthusiastic team on board the Norwegian G.O. Sars.

Are you interested in climate change and nutrient cycling in polar regions this might be the perfect opportunity for you:

The project focusses on the impact of climate change on iron and manganese dynamics in both Antarctic and Arctic regions.

Tomorrow we leave with a group of scientist from the @ribesresearch.bsky.social and NIOZ to Svalbard. There we will investigate Fe and Mn dynamics in the seafloor and water column as part of my Veni project. See a post about the work we will do (in Dutch):

Check our new study where we investigated the impact of sulfide on the efficiency of methane oxidation in the eutrophic Stockholm Archipelago.

Today our fieldwork equipment will be brought to University of Bergen where it will be loaded onto the Norwegian G.O. Sars. We will see our stuff back in Svalbard where we will board the ship to investigate trace nutrient cycling as part of my NWO Veni project @ribesresearch.bsky.social
