That's so freaking cute! 😍
That's fair and valid ❤️
It's a tradition to dress up for Ash Wednesday in Iceland for kids and because I work with kids, I dressed up today. As Pippi Longstockings. You're not too old for Betty Boop.
Not exactly related to this but I once had the Icelandic transliteration for Tchaikovsky (Tsjajkovskíj) on a slide in a class I was teaching. My students were slighty too used to the English transliteration to appreciate it. (In fact, I made them very mad).
Ugh, shoveling packed snow is the worst. You have all my sympathy!
"this is for you, mom" 😭😭😭
The Penalty Box series by Ari Baran, mm hockey romance. A bit gritty with well fleshed out characters who are diverse (for hockey players that is).
Thanks for the link! Loved this write-up (unlike the review in The Guardian that was written by someone who clearly just eat his Cheerios with a dose of piss).
Oh, I'm absolutely feral about the books and I've watched these two episodes three times already
But that's such a Shane thing to do
I'm going to this collab event at my favorite restaurant on Saturday and my tastebuds and I are beyond excited!
I got awarded the prestigious "Hamburger Hat" for being best at trivia at a party with other female quiz bowl nerds. (This was taken at 3 in the morning - we quiz bowl nerds party hard).
Oh, that's a lovely lopapeysa (what it's called in Icelandic). Those colors are gorgeous!
It's a very Nordic thing to have two duvets in a double bed.
I'm so glad that you had a good time here in Iceland
I think the whole no military thing here in Iceland is so ingrained in me that I've always felt uneasy when I see people in military uniforms
Oh, that café is a favorite of Elín's!
So wonderful to meet again! And I'm so glad that you're enjoying my country!
Those Þingvellir pictures look dope! Þingvellir do look very pretty in the fall.
Can't wait!!!
Some twenty years ago, I went where the shark museum is. Back then it was basically this old dude with an obsession for the old tradition of shark fishing, telling stories, but that was very interesting so hopefully the museum will be.
The penis museum was started by this guy who taught at my high school. He thought it was a hoot to collect the male sexual organs of various species and yeah, it escalated to the degree that his children now run a museum (it's in downtown Reykjavík).
YAY for you coming to my country!
It was his charisma and personality that made him handsome. Some people are like that. So magnetic that they almost could have any face, you'd still find them attactive.
Btw today is Colin Firth's 65th birthday
I don't know about how available this brand is in the US but I love this ceramic strainless steel pan combekk.com/product/cera...
I still have a Dreamwidth account exactly for that (and other things) and about two people read it regularly
I knew you then. I think I even came to that dorm room.
