Building peace should be the priority of all our elected politicians. Israel's actions in Gaza, Lebanon and Iran are making us all less safe, and worse, our Government enables to the Israeli Government's actions. It must end.

What did he do to their couches last time the Met?
Hydrogen remains a question looking for an answer
Thanks - Alan believes whatever he thinks is useful in the current moment. Amazing that he has pulled the wool over Reform councillors eyes to elect him, after they've spent a year blame the Conservative administration, that Alan was a cabinet member in, for the mess the county is. Deeply unserious.
Alan Amos: left Labour over not being Mayor; left the Tories over not being Chair of the County Council. Now on his latest self-aggrandising tour trying to become leader of Reform. He was a key member of the Tory administration that bankrupted the council. www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c...
Labour continue to demonstrate their commitment to supporting landlords. Rent controls and building 150,000 council homes a year will tackle the affordability crisis. Labour will do neither.

Are Labour supporters ok?
Buses should be fast and free. It’s ridiculous that in Worcester it would cost a parent and child £8.60 return to go into town - more than 6 hours of parking at the most expensive car park.
If pensioners can have it to help with their cost of living, why not everyone else? #commonsense
Turns out "this one weird trick" of parking on the pavement behind double yellow lines won't stop you getting a Penalty Charge Notice. Thank you to the City Council enforcement team for getting straight on site to enforce the rules.

I don't know why this is so hard for some people to grasp. If we extend our use of fossil gas, rather than going all-out for grid batteries, heat pumps and induction hobs, we extend our dependence on *foreign* sources of gas, regardless of whether we also use the UK's last remaining reserves. 🧵
I proposed a motion calling for Rent Controls powers for Worcester earlier this year, which was successfully passed with only Reform and Liberal Democrats voting against.
We need 3 things to make housing affordable:
1) Rent Controls
2) Secure tenancies
3) Large scale building of council homes
David Lammy. Great to catch up with my friend JD Vance today in DC following his talks in Pakistan. It's vital that the cewsedire continues and we get shipping flowing freely again through the Straits of Hormuz. We continue to work together towards a just and lasting piece in Ukraine.
"My friend."
This is how our government greets those accused of war crimes.
This is not diplomacy. It's debasement.
a screenshot of the "New Bestsellers" list from Substack, with Andrew Tate in the #1 position
Hey, look at Substack promoting Andrew Tate as the #1 new bestseller. The company's amoral leadership & backers will platform anyone, even ludicrously toxic rapists & human traffickers.
Every day we watch as the US and Israel breach intl law with seeming impunity, wreaking chaos and devastation on the world stage.
This cannot continue. The UK must take serious action and make clear we will not be made accomplice to Trump and Netanyahu's illegal aggression.
Huge congratulations to Peter Magyar and Tisza! The Hungarian people have turned their backs on authoritarianism, corruption, and prejudice - and have stood up to resist Putin, Trump & Vance. This is a victory for hope!
Labour would describe all of these policies as “wacky” and “extreme” - when in fact they will deliver cheaper bills and more stability for the many.
Blockbuster update on electionmaps.uk Nowcast today - predicting a Green win in Worcester. Only we can stop Reform here.
On the most recent (29th March) episode of BBC Politics Midlands, the presenter described Reform UK as "extremely popular". That is in no way true - they're actually the most unpopular party amongst voters. When we will get fair coverage from the BBC? #polmids

An intelligent politician: “we can’t do what people need, that’s populist!”
As I said in the council chamber last year, this has been caused by the delay in ending Section 21 until May 1st - it should have been implemented immediately rather than giving landlords a charter to kick people out before May 1st.
I have been dealing with a number of pieces of casework from tenants who have been served Section 21 notices since the Renters Rights Act became law.

They also don’t meet a cross section of society - they meet with lobbyists, and vulnerable constituents. Meanwhile I’ve met people on the doorstep who haven’t seen their MP in person for 30 years.
Last week on “Politics Midlands”, the presenter described Reform as “extremely popular” - I guess the Greens are now also extremely popular, right?
Do they still have morons calling for more drilling in the North Sea? It’s time to get off the “stupid fuel” roller coaster.
Perhaps West Mercia Police should take notice: people intent of causing alarm and distress by going into areas they don't live and putting flags up, harassing and upsetting residents, can actually be arrested for public order offences.

“You’re a party of protest, we’re a party of Government” they say, unironically.

400,000 gas boilers a year are built in Worcester. The transition to heat pumps in new homes is the right decision, but we need to see heat pumps being built in Worcester too. Our MP has to work with the Government to ensure those important jobs stay in Worcester.
