Trans people have been banned from snooker thanks to a combination of transphobia, misogyny, and the UK’s weird bathroom ban confusion, with transphobes insisting that trans people are far too powerful and intelligent to be able to compete with women. How very feminist of them.
This is a question I ask myself constantly. 15 years working in advocacy, nearly a decade prior to reporting on issues, it does seem things are getting worse. It's not much, but I cling to the idea that without fighting back they would be even more so. We are in triage rather than healing right now

It is British but it’s a newspaper, UK print media is much more unhinged than the US equivalent but they’re both getting worse, our equivalent of Fox News is GB news which is a whole different thing, the archetype of old money millionaire columnists for papers advocating for maximum cruelty is v UK
it was definitely supposed to be more of a Philomena Cunk style thing as like an out of their depth Daily Telegraph columnist slowly realising that things are bad actually but I fell off haha
