The direct polution is really bad, and it would obv be better if we switched to renewals without destruction, but every oil pipeline, storage and refinery blown up is in the end a net positive for the earth.

A real journalist might point out there is no proposal to defund ICE/CBP in the shutdown. They are sitting on a mountain of money that will last for years. We are talking about minimal accountability like hiding their identity, and violating the 4th amendment ban against warrantless entry.

This entire thread expresses pretty much exactly how I feel, too.

Part of it is temperamental. I'm by nature a late adopter.

The other part is life stage. I'm not quite one foot out the door, but I'm making my way toward it with increasing relief, and that sense of being out of step is real.
