On Thursday, it was good to join CanREA’s Energy Storage Alberta Summit to give a keynote on Alberta and its energy future. The summit brought together leaders from across the sector at a pivotal moment for AB's electricity market.

Yesterday, as part of Citizenship Week, I had the honour of joining a citizenship ceremony to welcome our newest Canadians. Canada is freedom, opportunity, and peace, but also a shared responsibility. It has shaped me, and I look forward to the impact our newest Canadians will make.

🇨🇦 = Independent redistrictings that strive for effective representation and a fair playing field, for the benefit of voters.
🇺🇸 = Politically managed redistrictings where one party games the process for advantage, at the expense of voters.
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
With a majority, we'll continue to work just as hard for Canadians.
Global oil prices have spiked. That's affected fuel prices everywhere.
Canadian oil and gas is at record production levels, and our gov't is using the revenue that generates to lower costs at the pump.
Curious about why the price spikes even in producing countries? 👇

It was a pleasure to address the 2026 Liberal Convention on the final day and tee up a conversation on building big and building faster to build a Canada for all.
Great to be back at UCalgary this week for a School of Public Policy roundtable with Minister @anitaoakvilleeast.bsky.social on foreign policy and economic resilience. We discussed trade barriers, supply chains, and how Canada can build resilience through diversification and trusted partnerships.
Last Thursday, I visited Belvedere-Parkway Elementary to speak with Grade 6 students about our democracy as part of a CIVIX visit. It was a great morning chatting about my work representing the people of Calgary Confederation. Democracy matters.
Last Tuesday, it was a pleasure to give opening remarks at Canada Powered by Women’s Calgary Signature Event, their biggest yet, with attendance up 25% over last year. More women in energy means stronger, more balanced solutions for Alberta and Canada. #beunignorable
Last April Fool's got a little out of hand.
Grateful to meet with reps from Siksika Nation in Ottawa last Tuesday to discuss potential fed support for a new middle school—something I strongly support. As we near the 150th anniversary of Treaty 7 in 2027, supporting education and future generations in Siksika is more important than ever.
Great to visit White Birch Paper’s Masson mill in Gatineau last Monday with PS Claude Guay. We met the team behind a facility with deep roots in the region and a strong future. A personal visit too—my grandfather used to work at White Birch. Proud of the workers building this community.
As Albertans, every minute we spend on separatism is a minute 1) we're dividing families, 2) scaring away investors; and 3) not building our province and our country. nationalnewswatch.com/2026/03/27/a...
Big thanks to the Red Iron Labs team for the blast last Wednesday—never thought I’d be trying VR sims with Minister Marc Miller. Great to visit this Calgary-based, women-led studio and see work spanning games, health, education, training, and productivity tools—the kind of innovation we’re backing.
Last week, it was great to be back at #UCalgary with PS Karim Bardeesy for the announcement of over $20M for 34 genomics R&D projects. With $45M+ in co-investment, these partnerships will create jobs, strengthen key sectors, and turn Canadian research into real-world results.
Gave a speech to the Canadian Club of Calgary earlier this week where I talked about western values, and how they can (and do) underpin an increasingly popular western liberalism.

Happy world poetry day
This week, I was grateful to join a Canadian Institute of Mining panel on issues and opportunities in Canada’s mining sector — from the federal role in sustainable growth to Indigenous engagement, stronger projects, and the impact of the Alberta–Ottawa MOU.
New substack on why being Liberal in deep-blue Alberta is less weird than people think — and why it might actually fit the place better than expected.
Today, I was honoured to announce over $4.4 mil in federal support for a new Japanese community centre in Calgary. This project will create a welcoming, sustainable space for cultural & educational programming while helping preserve & celebrate Japanese heritage in our city for generations to come.

Last week, I was at Western Archrib in Sturgeon County to announce over $4.4M to strengthen the Prairie forest sector, including $2M+ for a new mass timber facility. This means more production, support for construction, and good jobs—keeping Canada’s forest sector strong for years to come.
Alberta separatists are 20% of the vote, 100% of the noise.
They've railroaded us into a conversation that erodes business confidence and pits us against each other.
Absent polls suggesting any chance Albertans want this, the Premier should shut the door to a divisive referendum.
Great visit to Conifer Energy in Redwater to see their team’s innovative carbon capture work. Canadian workers are leading in producing energy while cutting emissions. Through supports like the CCUS Investment Tax Credit, we’re backing jobs and helping build Canada as an energy superpower.
Canada needs to diversify trade - and manage our relationship with the United States while we do. We've signed new agreements and we have the best current tariffs with the United States.
We're building Canada strong.
