Reviewing and scoring games the way the mainstream expects is outdated anyways, should have been phased out long ago. I find it a lot harder to get pissy at "bad" outlet reviews cos I'm too exposed to how flawed the current day one clicks based method is
I'm not gonna out them but I dunno felt very icky seeing a call out post going "reviews are subjective BUT" when the but wasn't anything objectively false about the game's content. I'm not sure expecting a game to have something it didn't is that big a crime
I was kind of surprised to see non-chuds get pissy about that review and they're doing the annoying thing where they refer to all the reviews on the site as being written by "IGN".
People I expect better off talking like they're not an outlet with specific individuals writing different reviews

I might write some sort of review cos I have enough thoughts for one, but it's a good retrospective game that shows some devs/games would have only one foot in the VR door, and others would be full games converted to PSVR or new 8+ hour games
Just beat DOOM VFR on PS4 PSVR and I thought it was a nifty little game, but for a game that's 90% recycled assets from DOOM 2016, it was shocking how short one campaign playthrough is. If you're reusing rooms and level chunks, heck why not reuse more? why not just redo the whole campaign?

This would cause the PC & Mac versions of Borderlands 2 to be incompatible for weeks, sometimes months btw, rendering crossplay non-functional. Holding back the Steam update cos Apple had to manually approve updates is a BS reason, that's damning everyone "cause it wouldn't be fair" Trolley problem

I think to this day the worst version of this was a forum post on Borderlands 2's official forums for people to criticise Aspyr for not releasing updates for the Mac port on Steam until Aplle approved the App Store version and people unironically would say "I'm on Windows so I don't see the problem"

Related to the news about the PS5 price increase, I won an eBay auction for a PS4 Pro for about £110, which is about £20 more than the price increase of all the PS5 models in the UK.
That's right, I brought it for almost the same amount a 5 year old console is increasing price (again)

Diving into that PS4 VR headset I got cheap and found out something kind of funny that a lot of VR games got PS4 Pro patches or just run better on the headset with it.
This includes Sony's pack-in/free games like Astrobot Playroom and VR Worlds.
In fact some even argued digital prices on consoles were going to lower!
When at least in the UK often the digital launch price for console releases are often most expensive on the digital storefronts
Sometimes, none of them, not even the bad ones
Also shoutouts to that "Retros Classic" streaming thing that actually turned out to be even worse than Game Room
If someone asked me what would be a Dream longform series for us to do on BGHOF, it would be playing each week of releases for Microsoft Game Room.
I'm sure a decent amount of functionality would be missing like the Ranked modes, maybe even the friendlist avatars, but still, one day...

* Limited era of games
* Slowing rollout of releases
* bad selection of games/systems
* Varying levels of emulation quality/controls (also partly because of the games chosen)
* Bad price point per game/versions
*eyes at Silent Hill fans who've never played 1-4
The content recommended was odd in general, I guess when YT's got no watch history or other info it's not going to be specific but you'd think it would at least be based on the video you're watching? But no it was mostly news, commentary, or network channels, not related to a gaming highlight video
Even if it wasn't on my content (and that is bad enough I should be able to block that), that should never be recommended to non-logged in users that is fucked. I think it's being shown based on my IP location but again, that's not a channel YT should feel safe promoting to potential kids
