This is a niche skeet for my fellow musical theatre/Boston sports fans: doesn’t Roman Anthony look like Jonathan Groff’s cousin or something??

And if you’re married to a location manager (🙋🏼‍♀️) you have definitely stopped at all 3 on the way to somewhere else to check parking signs 😆

More people should read (and watch) Brother Cadfael! So good, and no longer than an Agatha Christie.

screencap of a tweet with a photo at the bottom of JD Vance giving a talk, gesturing smugly with his hands

Eric Daugherty • @EricLDaugh • 1h
• JD VANCE RESPONDS TO POPE LEO:
"When the Pope says that God is never on the side of those who wield the sword - there is more than a THOUSAND year tradition of Just war Theory."

"In the same way that it's important for the vice president of the United States to be careful when I talk about matters of public policy, I think it's very, very important for the pope to be careful when he talks about matters of theology."

"And I think that one of these issues here is that there has been - if you're going to opine on matters of theology, you've got to be careful, you've got to make sure it's anchored in the truth, and that's one of the things that I try to do, and it's certainly something I would expect from the clergy, whether they're Catholic or Protestant."

I’ve given this a great deal of thought, trying to come up with the perfect joke for this moment, and this is what I have so far -

POPE LEO: our religion teaches that this war is bad

VANCE: wow, who died and made YOU head of the Catholic Church??

POPE LEO: well, you should know, you were there

Post from Dale Partridge claiming nobody wants to live in diverse neighborhoods

Post from Dale Partridge claiming nobody wants to live in diverse neighborhoods

I quite happily live in a neighborhood where most people do not share my religion, where multiple languages are represented, and where people have come from a lot of different countries.

Bigoted assholes always assume everyone else actually shares their bigotries.

"criticizing AI use in journalism or other creative industries is classist" NO IT IS NOT

there is a class that benefits enormously from cognitive surrender, epistemic warfare, and the enclosure of all hitherto produced culture and it is NOT THE WORKING CLASS

Dashverse to Create Short Videos of Harlequin Romances
Harlequin and AI entertainment company Dashverse have partnered to offer short-form drama videos inspired by Harlequin Romance books. The "microdramas" will be "developed by a team of illustrators assisted by Dashverse's proprietary production system, Frameo," an "AI-powered creation platform," a release states.

The videos will be available in English and distributed through Dashverse's DashReels and other platforms. The first of 40 planned adaptations is Catherine Mann's A Fairy-Tail Ending, available in April. In May, the companies will release JC Harroway's Forbidden Fiji Nights with Her Rival and Mistletoe Baby Mix-Up, Jackie Ashenden's Newlywed Enemies, and La Quette's The King's Pregnancy Proposition.

"Harlequin romance stories have a long-standing legacy of resonating with readers through their universal themes of love and connection," Harlequin evp and publisher Brent Lewis said. "This partnership with Dashverse represents an exciting opportunity to reimagine these cherished stories for a new audience, leveraging cutting-edge technology to bring them to life in an innovative and engaging medium."

"Some of the most powerful stories in the world already exist, they just need to be experienced in new ways," Dashverse ceo and cofounder Sanidhya Narain said. "With Harlequin, we’re unlocking a vast library of beloved stories and reimagining them for a format that is visual, immediate, and built for today’s generation. This is a step toward building global entertainment franchises from existing IP, powered by AI."

Let there be as much outrage from politicians in Washington when kids go hungry as there is when I break bread with New Yorkers.
