Steelers seem to have some serious interest in North Dakota State QB Cole Payton.

He was in Pittsburgh for visit and QB coach Tom Arth also attended his pro day.

Could be a 4th or 5th round pick.

Lots of reports out there about Jermod McCoy's knee.

Still not sure if it's real or if its a smoke screen. There's a clear consensus top two (McCoy, Delane) in terms of talent, so there would be incentive for teams to spread rumors.

I'm leaning towards believe this is real and he's going Day 2

I think I agree

I wonder if the NYG/CIN trade killed the potential of a Cowboys/Browns trade?

Can the Browns drop to 12 and feel confident that Mauigoa and Fano don't land with KC, CIN, MIA?

There could even be a run on tackles like

9. KC - Mauigoa
10. NYG - Fano
11. MIA - Freeling

And then what for CLE?

I keep notes on various rumors leading up to to the draft to get a feel for the consensus on each pick.

And the No. 2 pick is clear as mud.

There probably was some truth to that Dallas/Cleveland trade everyone mocked last week but I don't think Sonny Styles will be there at No. 6

If Dallas wants to feel really good about getting Styles, they've gotta move to 3 (but if they do that they might end up with Arvell Reese instead)

Talked about Omar Cooper on the podcast this week. After seeing his combine numbers I only have more questions.

He has the traits. He had a Heisman QB. He played in an offensive scheme which should have been ideal for his skill set.

So why was his production all over the map?

Cardinals OL coach Justin Frye was Ohio State's offensive line coach from 2022-24.

If they're considering Arvell Reese, Arizona will have some of the best insight into him and his potential to make the switch to the edge.

Mike LeFleur also knows what a shitshow it can be when you throw an underdeveloped QB into the fire (he was in New York for the Zach Wilson debacle)

The Sabre Interview: Matt Schaub Matt Schaub is one of the greatest quarterbacks ever to play for the University of Virginia. He holds nearly every passing record at UVa and is beginning to make his mark in the NFL as well. TheSabr...

Schaub in 2010: "It definitely helped me develop... I always get asked which way is better... That really helped me prepare, and watch, and learn and develop my ideals and thinking about how I was going to handle playing the position when I got an opportunity." virginia.sportswar.com/article/2010...

I think it's noteworthy that Matt Schaub is Arizona's QB coach.

As they're trying to decide whether to invest in Ty Simpson (either in 2nd round or a trade up), they've got someone in the building who can share first-hand knowledge of the benefit of sitting and learning from the bench.

Keldric Faulk feels like the perfect fit for Dennis Allen's defense in Chicago. I wonder if Ryan Poles would trade up for him?

Trading with Tampa at No. 15 might be a good spot to get ahead of Carolina, Dallas. Tampa might be willing to move down to get more appropriate value on a pass-rusher

"LIV Golf was just as loud and stupid as Entertainment 720, and also paid past-their-prime athletes exorbitant amounts of money to stand around and do nothing … except the people in charge were spending money mostly to distract from various human rights violations"

Losing Dexter Lawrence obviously hurts, but the Giants have the potential to come away a special draft class which sets the defense up for years to come

2 days ago 10 3 2 0

I’ll add that I can definitely see a scenario where Giants go OT or WR at 10. But I think that only happens if Downs is off the board. Harbaugh isn’t gonna pass up the opportunity to try and recreate a modern version of Ray Lewis and Ed Reed.

I'm surprised I don't see Brian Urlacher mentioned as the comp for Sonny Styles more often.

Former safeties who were probably athletic enough to stick at the position but also big enough to make the switch to linebacker where they're more valuable to the defense.

Daboll is in Tennessee, which has the 4th pick and has been linked to Love in many mock drafts.

3 days ago 1 0 1 0

Obviously he's not running the show, but would the coach who let Saquon Barkley walk really be pounding the table for a RB at No. 4?

Buffalo never invested heavily in RB while Daboll was there either. They spent 3rds on Devin Singletary and Zack Moss.

Domonique Orange lined up a nose tackle a lot, which suppresses pass-rush stats.

But when he lined up as a three-tech he generated a pressure rate of....

3.3%😔

4 days ago 1 1 1 0

TJ Parker generated a 7.6% pressure rate against teams ranked in the top 50 of pressure rate allowed (16.7% against every else).

That's by far the biggest dropoff against good pass-protection units of the potential 1st-round pass-rushers.

among 55 RBs who ran at the combine over the last 3 years, Jadarian Price ranked 31st in max speed (22.4 mph)

However, he ranked 12th in speed at 10 yards (18.3 mph)

Max speed:

Jadarian Price: 22.4 mph
Emmett Johnson 22.1 mph

I like Emmett Johnson, but its worth noting Nebraska's o-line/scheme really helped him out last year.

Nebraska RBs collectively ranked 6th in the nation in opponent-adjusted rushing yards before contact.
