Transgender Day of Visibility
Today is the International Transgender Day of Visibility. It’s a day to celebrate and support the many transgender members of our movement and our community.
#TransDayOfVisibility #BCLab
Visit sd47.bc.ca for learning resources and join us in using this day as an opportunity to renew our commitment to learning, listening, and speaking out against transphobia in all its forms.
#qathetSchoolDistrict
To the gender-diverse students, staff, and families in our community: we see you, we celebrate you, we value you, and we’re glad you’re here.
We strive to ensure families see themselves reflected in the curriculum and school communities, and we continue to uphold the laws and policies that protect the rights of people across the 2S/LGBTQIA+ community.
As a school district, we are committed to creating learning environments where all students feel safe and supported in their gender identities and expressions.
It is also a time to reflect on the reality that visibility is not always easy and may come with risk. While everyone deserves to be seen and respected for who they are, many gender-diverse individuals still face barriers, discrimination, and harm simply for being themselves.
This day celebrates the strength, joy, and contributions of gender-diverse people, while acknowledging the ongoing work needed to ensure equity, safety, and belonging for all.
@qathetschooldistrict Every year on March 31st, 2 Spirit, transgender and non-binary communities, along with allies, recognize #TransgenderDayofVisibility.
