The cover of my second book -with @eerdmansbooks - and the cover of my fourth book - with @BloomsburyAcad - are each from a 1919 YMCA social health poster series available through the University Minnesota archives. Judge these two books by their covers, and thank archivists!

Since I’m trying out being more clearly opinionated here: I think every Signal user who wants actually private messaging should do this right away

Dad came through surgery and is in recovery! Long road ahead but omg the miracles of modern medicine
Heart surgery for Dad scheduled for Monday. It is very serious, no sugar coating it. But we're all together with him and he's got the best care possible I think.
"people are starving but THE ECONOMY is doing great"
hey if "the economy" is completely decoupled from the welfare of the people, WHAT IS THE FUCKING POINT OF THE ECONOMY
I have created a Women's Pro Baseball League feed!
It's a work in progress as I need to hop in a meeting now, but I should be able to finish up the rest of the teams tonight.
Currently should catch most everything WPBL-related. I'm working on putting all player names into the feed now.

None of these "A.i." words matter, so no one gives a shit.
This is INCREDIBLY bad for people individually and for society as a whole.
My real hot take on this is that both editors and readers need to become reacquainted with the kind of writing that doesn’t *immediately* answer all your questions.
New release on Bandcamp Friday from MARY CHAPIN CARPENTER AND THE MOUNTAIN GOATS? 💃🏼
Writers write. 🤷🏼♀️
Writing 1000+ words to get to the ~400 that I need.
At some point my Super Powers should be kicking in, right? (Super Powers = something approaching normal energy levels)
My AWP FOMO has been significantly mitigated by the fact that I'm in the middle of eight weeks of iron infusions and all I wanna do is nap.
