A cartoon drawing of a mushroom carrying a bucket, walking through a rainbow cloud of spores, drawn in the style of Charles Schulz's Peanuts.
Playing a myconid in D&D and we decided the communication spores are a emitted in a constant cloud like Pig-Pen.

A picture of a turquoise and orange Attaboy mushroom artwork. The text reads, "Game of Shrooms is a once a year worldwide art-N-seek event created by Attaboy".
From creator Attaboy, "What the hell is Game of Shrooms? : it's a global Art-N-Seek Holiday which happens once a year, this year on June 14th. Artists all over the world create one of a kind artworks, and provide clues for you to find and keep them if you are lucky."

A map of Cleveland, Ohio, with mushroom shaped pins indicating artists participating in Game of Shrooms. A pin in Lakewood, Ohio, is highlighted by an arrow.
Dropped my pin for the #shroomdrop, it's official. On June 14, I'll post clues about where you can find these paintings I made for #gameofshrooms2025

I audibly laughed when they kissed in the Arcade
Looks like there's another movie I'll miss the plot of because I was too busy recognizing Cleveland landmarks.
More Alien Day
a lot of pundits become obsessed with the little contours of conservative politics and ultimately get so lost in them that they get lapped by people who believe simple things like “republicans hate minorities and workers.”
While doing research for my toxic jungle painting, I got really into these macro photographs of lichens. Anyway, I'm a nerd and I just wanted to paint a bunch of different lichens on this blocky panel.
I guess there's some moss on one of the sides, so I'm in on a technicality.
Front: trumpet lichen
Top: sunburst lichen
Left: star rosette lichen
Right: orange rock posy
Bottom: lungwort

This piece is in the Botanical show at @lakewoodartsupply.bsky.social but JOKE'S ON THEM because these aren't plants they're lichens which are symbiotic colonies of fungi, algae and cyanobacteria and an example of community that we should probably emulate.

If I had a nickel for every time I dated a bear who loved Moulin Rouge, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
A brightly colored insect creeps on weird glowing plant life. A bunch of tiny insects ride on its back.
Have a preview of my favorite little dude in my new painting 🎨🪲
well, I thought it was fun.
A large canvas sits on an easel. The unfinished painting is done in fluorescent paints and glows under black light.
What's on my easel right now 🎨🖌
Feeling hangry only to remember the extra Chinese food I bought yesterday to have leftover is a level of joy I haven't felt all January. Gonna have to keep hiding Easter eggs like this for myself to combat The Horrors.
Fun fact: it's labeled as Tibicen canicularis, which was true when I wrote it. It's now in the genus Neotibicen, after reclassification in recent years.
An ink drawing of a cicada. The black line work stands out on a white background.
January is the time to say "out with the old, in with the new". I made this ink drawing of a cicada back in college, sooooo many years ago, and you can see it at @lakewoodartsupply starting this Friday 1/31. My old homework could be your new art!

Nate Silver: "Thinking ChatGPT is useless is midwit. It's a magic box that answers any question you ask it from levels ranging from modestly coherent to extremely proficient. If you haven't bothered to figure it out to derive some utility out of it then you're just being lazy tbh."
i can see how you would come to this conclusion if your job didn't require you to ever be correct
A very weird little experiment for my first piece of 2025: “Beedle” 🪲 a sculptural mask made of gourds, driftwood, mountain laurel, paper clay, acrylics & gold leaf. Part of THE ENTOMOLOGIST’S CABINET group exhibition at Arch Enemy Arts! On display Jan 18-Feb 16
