Last remnants of humanity watch powerless from the International Space Station as the final pockets of the Earth's surface are consumed.
Our planet is now an anchor for Xipe Totec, the alien organism we were powerless against, as it continues spreading throughout the cosmos.

This is an incredible, and very sad, walk through what is a terrible sequence of fucking-around-and-finding-outs, from industrialism, to government, to capitalism as a whole

i've seen "it would really stick it to the devs if we left bsky" posts & no it wouldn't. they want this web site to be boring crypto idiots who cool their phones off in pools chatting with AI reply bots. instead they have to put up with us and that's deeply funny

Some people have misunderstood this.

We literally saw how Claude itself, coded by Claude, turns one API call into a DOS of thousands upon thousands of API calls done in the sloppiest fucking way possible.

This postmortem shows Bluesky vibecoded a function to DOS itself, in a similarly stupid way.

We should normalize the expression "I have sorrow".

Sometimes I say "I'm sorry [bad thing] happened" and then some perky smartass corrects me "You don't need to be sorry! It isn't your fault!"

No, "I have sorrow". Sorrow seeps out of blackened dreams and shutters the very light of my soul.

just in case you didn't see the angry brazilians replying to this:

this is just propaganda to let people know that if the US invades/bombs/kidnaps the president, it's justified in some way

Brazil won't tolerate this kind of stuff while the real "global criminal" is bombing hospitals and schools

I would submit that a gerrymander by politicians saying fuck the voters and one by voters saying fuck the politicians are two wholly different animals

First saw this story over on Threads, and people really, really, really did not like anyone correcting misinformation about their misreading of the story. We seem to be moving to some sort of post-reality where people just want fake stories that reinforce their beliefs.

This guy was made in May'24.. Spotted owlet (Athene brama), made of sheep wool, textiles, woolen threads, has wire frame inside. Eyes are made of glass (hand painted), claws and beak - #fimo #clay. Life-size.

So we're at what was the deadline before I extended it. We got 8 entries which all look fantastic, thank you all! I'm currently caught up on the plushies now so I'll show both the entries and the plushies to see what others have done, and what you may get if you do an entry ^^

Thank you all! 💙

Scrolling through the entries for this pose, seeing a very common error:

When drawing the head, the tilt of the head is communicated almost entirely by the position of the ears relative to the face. A downward tilt, like this, puts the bottom of the ears in line with the eyes, not the nose.

This is incredible. I don’t know how else to explain this but it makes the moon look so real. I get that’s a funny thing to say but the clarity and the closeness of the image taken by an actual person changes the perspective I think.

I've seen it called "the vomit draft". You just get anything out on the page. You clean it up from there. Much easier to revise.

Gimli, LotR - Portrait

Not much to say except that the more armors/metals I get to work with the more I like doing them haha

The beard was still a challenge but I did my best. Happy that I didn't take too long with this one :]

The 1st 4 paints in the monthly colour calendar I'm making this year. Aiming to make a set of 12 that contains colours that stands alone and are good for mixing by the end of the year!

personally I agree that we should indeed reject the hollow pluralism of pretending that we shouldn't judge Klan, Nazi, and sparkling eugenicist subcultures according to what they have historically produced, and would enthusiastically endorse rejecting inclusion of them in public life
