All my coaching is very generic, so it doesn't overwhelm or make the player hyper focus on things. I told him some areas he should let go of and win somewhere else and some advice on Feng Kenpo, but that matchup is an uphill battle.

I've been working extremely hard over the holidays to understand Feng and Claudio at the level of my Dragunov. I'm not saying I'm there yet, but stuff is clicking. It is keeping me motivated during the off-season. I still don't know when to switch in bracket, but I don't want to be one dimensional.

I always felt insecure about being able to only play one character at a high level. My Feng was very inconsistent, and obviously Dragunov is so good that I never really needed to. A skill that world-class players show is the ability to switch characters and maintain that skill level.

It's rough. It's still great practice when everyone is on. We are kinda the only region that kinda stops playing after reaching G.O.D.

It'll keep getting easier to do that cause NA retention rate is probably the lowest. Ima critique your wavu wank Elo to keep you playing 😈

I do not get the idea of being "done with ranked" after reaching G.O.D as a competitor. I understand if you're casually into the game, you go offline for the vibes, you're a content creator, etc. I get being done. If you're trying to win and be one of the best. How can you be done?

I keep getting asked how I'm prepping for TWT. I decided to try something different for the last tournament of the year for me. I'm not preparing at all. I'm just trying to enjoy the game and the trip.

I won Cold Front on my birthday yesterday. I never received a trophy in Tekken 7. I have about 4 or 5 now and 2 belts! It's pretty sick how much my life changed this year. Even though I've been dealing with other obstacles. I can look at this and be happy. Thank you for the Happy birthdays πŸ™πŸΌβ€οΈ

Happy birthday, brooo!!

I was struggling to generate offense after Feng df+4 on hit. I labbed what moves hit backdash, ss, etc. It ended up being 3,3, and d+4. I also watch Mulgold, Kkokkoma, etc. I think the problem solving is the fun and addictive part.

So, for me, when I have these issues. I feel like switching needs a similar work ethic that was given to your main. Everyone has a generic style. So that's normal. Watching footage, labbing scenarios that you were uncomfortable and seeing what moves fit are important. An example of this.

It felt easier to play off of compared to ws+2. Also, the move is so fast that people don't process the recovery well. Challenging on minus and kenpo step generated a ton of reward as well.

Sloppy examples of implementation of ws4.

This character is fun af. (I heat dashed off the initial shoulder.)

I fixed my terrible Feng session by adding ws+4 into my offense, and things started to click. That and d+2. I miss Feng d+2 ch from t7 πŸ˜‚

Don't take the up and down of Elo too hard. It happens to the best of us. I went from 2519 to 2380 to 2500 all today. I took a break and thought about what I could do better. You know what's best for ya. If you have any questions you can always hmu.

It's a common issue. I've used him a few times in bracket, and he's undefeated so far πŸ˜… just not in anything major.

Even when I think I'm making the correct decisions, I'm incorrect. There are still bad habits.I also do not generate the same reward as I do with Drag. An example of this is like Dragunov 1,2,1 vs. Feng b+1. With Drag, I'm not hesitant, but with Feng, I might settle for a jab. When I can get a ch b1

I think the difficulty lies within my focus. Drag is my first character, so even when I'm not paying attention. Subconsciously, I'm making the correct decisions. Feng, not so much. So partially, it is a learning curve thing. When I use Feng, occasionally, my opponents' defense is more sporadic.

Great session with Dragunov today. Terrible session with Feng. I'm not taking in the information given well after I switch mid session. I think having the skill to navigate multiple characters is important. The journey to be able to switch seamlessly continues.

I posted that Armored King clip just to ratio Ty on TwitterπŸ˜… It does have me thinking about the casual audience, though. I'm curious to see how tekken 8 lifespan evolves. Like, what do people who have no intention of playing competitively think about Heat?

I've just been playing Ranked and not seeing much negativity around the game, and I think I'm playing some of my best Tekken.

Some of my friends asked why my name is Smèagol online right now. That's who I relate to when I play Tekken 8 😭

How you gonna downgrade from Lili?!

1 year ago 0 0 1 0

90% of my losses with Feng come from using his defensive tools improperly (kenpo, uf+2, etc.) and not using the tools that everyone has (block and sidestep).

Good luck. Kick ass
