Oh that was a good idea! It doesn't seem to make any difference though. Everything behaves exactly the same.

Can anyone point me in the right direction on this forearm twisting issue? It's not a pinching problem, which is what most forearm twisting issue are. I would like the forearm to only roll when the hand rolls, and not when the hand yaws on it's local Z axis.

⭐ Happy #WishlistWednesday! ⭐

Project Timbre does away with some common 3D Platformer troupes like limited aerial control, a rigid ground pound, and decelerated stops.

It gives players more control, and creates a great flow state.

Monterey Park becomes the first city in California to ban "all data centers within city limits" Residents of the small enclave east of LA not only killed their city's proposed 250,000 square foot data center, they pushed city council to ban them altogether

Last night, after an hours-long public hearing, Monterey Park became the first city in California to pass an ordinance permanently banning data centers.

The city council voted unanimously to declare data centers a public nuisance, and to "prohibit all data centers within city limits."

This is a great piece of writing!

There's an unfortunate and unproductive trend in today's media criticism landscape where people will be completely dismissive of something they don't like the vibes of. They act as though propaganda isn't art. Which is absurd.

It took me 2 years and 5000+ hours to make this indie game.
And it takes you 2 seconds to engage and maybe change my life.

Currently at 9700 wishlists. Can we round it up?? ;)

It's called Maseylia: Echoes of the Past. A 3D platformer metroidvania inspired by Moebius, releasing in 2026.

A sketchy drawing showing two diagrams of a person using two types of tablets. The top diagram shows a person hunching over a screen tablet set at an angle on a desktop and highlights how the position can cause strain. The second diagram shows a person using a regular non-screen tablet in their lap and sitting straight, looking directly ahead at a monitor, highlighting how the posture can be improved.

I've been getting a lot of questions re: chronic pain + art lately and I'm begging people to consider regular tablets over screen ones, and don't hunch over them. They take some getting used to but they allow for much better posture and reduced strain!

Now, this doesn't excuse it, and this is a dangerous slope of "acceptance" that "everyone is using AI and we can't stop that".

but, it's hard to draw a line between "hit tab to use the AI suggested text" and "i asked AI to give me some code". This is by design, the pro-AI camp want to normalize it.

I mean my theory on this is it's too hard to enforce and you get into a sticky situation real quick where most IDEs and ext editors come with "AI assisted autocomplete" turned on out of the box. I have to hunt to turn of off every VS code update.

There is an eventual answer to this in the... franchise? I'm don't remember if it gets addressed before Atlantis where it's definitely a topic... I think it might come up in SG-1 though.

Without spoilers: the stargate is actually a very smart piece of technology with a lot of safeties.

The lack of a prime directive in SG-1 leads to some interesting points where you get be like "so this star trek episode would have gone differently", and that's fun

I see articles talking about how trolls in Marathon are mercying people and killing them again. I have no doubt that is happening.

BUT. since mercy kits were added, the number of straight-up coop encounters i've had in solos has skyrocketed. It goes beyond live and let live. We're doing teamwork.

Think of how many games where the verb is violence. How many games (including the ones nominated for tonight’s BAFTA awards) where you shoot, fight, kill.
But when games want to explore the topic of violence in a meaningful way, that’s the issue?

Really great point about 18 minutes in about how some players intuitively want to toggle menus (with the same button) vs open with a select button and "back out" with a cancel button.

I'm so excited to watch this, because the changes in customization UI from Fallen Order to Survivor is something that really caught my attention (in a good way) while playing.

it doesn't matter. most people who know it from pulp fiction don't know it's a fake bible quote.

you can put a cd in a cd player and press the loop button, and it will actually loop the album and not get bored and start playing random other music!

we can also look at smartphones as they exist now and it's not clear it's a good thing they succeeded in permeating every interaction with the rest of the world. So I think there's significant incentive to prevent something like that from ever happening again.
