As a recipient of federal grants from #NIH (for now! 😭) that funds research in my lab, I'd like to sincerely thank American taxpayers on #TaxDay for investing in scientific research that lays the foundation for medical and technological innovation in this country and keeps us ALL safe and healthy

The Orange Cat Brain Atlas is here. 🧠🐈

Today, we published the first comprehensive cellular map of the orange cat brain. The new atlas reveals a single, specialized neuron responsible for behaviors like staring at walls, knocking objects off tables, and the 3am "zoomies."

Today, I would like to honor the memory of Roger Y. Tsien, born on February 1, 1952. His legacy lives with all who use his technologies, including calcium sensors, fluorescent proteins, the acetoxymethyl (AM) ester, & many more! #FluorescenceFriday

Second R01 for the lab submitted despite it all. Levi is taking all the credit for it (co-I of course).

Anyway continue calling your senators and reps. ICE has not left and we are still under a paramilitary occupation. My students are not safe and shouldn’t have to feel this way.

In an email asking me to serve on a study section, it states that if you have a family member/relative who is listed as key personnel, you can't serve on the study section. As a first-gen college grad, I am 🤯🤯 as I never considered this possibility?? Is this common??
