Young couples will pay £400,000 in rent before buying their own home.

With soaring house prices and sky-high deposits, young people are too often forced into an unaffordable rental market. If we want to give young people a chance, we need to fix our housing market.

I was delighted to join the pickleball ladies at Torrance Tennis Club. Great fun, great company, and another reminder of how much local clubs do to bring people together. #CommunitySuccess

I was honoured to be invited to speak at the Ahmadiyya peace conference.

It was a privilege to be part of an event that brought communities together and showed that we achieve far more by finding common ground than by giving in to division.

The Scottish Government’s anti-nuclear stance is blocking the creation of thousands of skilled Scottish jobs.

I have asked to meet the Minister of State for Energy to discuss the sites proposed for small modular reactors and the benefits they could bring to communities across Scotland.

We cannot afford another North Sea giveaway.

The UK will need oil and gas for the foreseeable future, but simply opening up the North Sea risks a rush of private investors extracting Britain’s resources without delivering lasting national benefit, just as happened under Thatcher.

Whatever your view on assisted dying, we should all agree that palliative care needs to be better.

No one nearing the end of life should be left without the care, dignity and support they deserve.

Trump is not only pushing up the price of heating homes and filling your car at the pump, he is directly helping Putin in his illegal war against Ukraine.

For each $10 increase in the price of a barrel of oil Putin makes $1.6 billion per month that he can put straight in his war machine.

These vape shops are causing harm to our communities in more ways than one with the sale of contraband cigarettes being associated with the locations.  Inspecting each shop for the risk of fire will help to identify the well run vape shops from the rest and this must be carried out quickly.

Fake information on social media results in hate.

Social media wants people to engage, not protect them. They make money by promoting videos that create shock and division. Children are being radicalised while viewing under-regulated content. Parliament needs to maintain children's safety online.

Labour’s new pay-per-mile tax will hit rural Scots hardest. 🚗💸 Scotland’s rural areas already have some of the worst EV charging coverage in the UK and the longest commutes - this isn’t fair or sustainable.
We need Labour and the Scottish Govt to work together to improve charging infrastructure.

Civil service pension administration is failing too many people. Retirees are waiting for payments they’re owed - and some are being offered interest-free hardship loans just to bridge the gap. That’s not good enough. Ministers must set out a clear timetable and fix this now.

#ReformUK had a Russian shill as their leader in Wales and the #Conservatives have taken millions in donations from those with ties to Russia.

The British people deserve a system they can trust. If money can't be traced or appears to be paying for influence then it has no place in our system.

The Government's decision to hire Peter Mandelson despite the knowledge of his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein is shocking.

That's why I called for a debate on the Nolan principles, to bring attention to the values we as politicians are expected to uphold.

We are calling for a vote of no confidence in the Government.

There have been repeated scandals involving Labour Government ministers and the details emerging around the decision to hire Peter Mandelson are the worst so far. #noconfidence #Mandelson

The Government has tried to block full access to the documents Surrounding Epstein and Mandelsons relationship.

The Liberal Democrats are calling for a full public enquiry to compel witnesses to testify and to ensure the release of all available documents.

This week it has become clear that convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein compromised those at the very top of the British state.

Now amidst rumours that Epstein may have acted as a Russian agent an enquiry is urgently needed to uncover the extent of the rot in the Labour Party.

Santander has announced plans to close its Kirkintilloch branch.

I have arranged a meeting with Lucy Rigby MP, the Economic Secretary to the Treasury, to discuss the impact of this closure on Mid Dunbartonshire.

This month I took part in a Holocaust memorial debate.

I had a simple message, we must remember the horrors of the past, we must learn from them and we must stand up to them wherever they arise.

The Government sold digital ID as a way to tackle illegal immigration. It is now being presented as the system on which our public services will run.

Whatever the justification, it is clear that the money being spent would be far better used to tackle organised crime head on.

Brexit has left Britain weaker. And with President Trump again threatening tariffs and picking fights with Europe, we cannot gamble our economy on an increasingly unpredictable White House.

🍃Green energy development is the future of the North Sea - but Scotland must get a fair deal from it.

That is why I have asked the Government what it will do to deliver secure, skilled jobs: building and upgrading the grid and strengthening our defence and industrial resilience.

I’ve signed EDM 2617 in solidarity with the Iranian people and in support of justice for those facing repression.

The courage shown by Iranians, from the protests after Mahsa Amini’s death to those continuing today, must be met with action.

On 17 December, I wrote to the Justice Secretary, David Lammy, regarding reports that a number of young people are on hunger strike in HMP Bronzefield.

Those on hunger strike are now at a critical stage. The Government must act to protect life.

#Brexit has failed for Britain.

I recently posted, highlighting the damage done to Britain by Brexit. I noticed numerous comments spreading misinformation. I have decided to address these comments over the coming week to try and bring some clarity to this debate.

#Britain and the #EuropeanUnion need a strong defence partnership!

As Russia takes increasingly aggressive action against the UK, and America becomes an increasingly unreliable partner, we must stand firm with our allies in Europe.
