Hey folks! I'm making an educational board game about direct action and I'm looking for best aftercare practices. What are good ways to support your community AFTER engaging in direct action?

I remember one of my first awe-inspiring tech moment was when a program was able to take MP3 of Sum 41's Still Waiting and convert it to Midi. I was able to implement that song for my non-existing RPGMaker 2000 games credit roll. Because everyone knows game development starts with making credits.

OK yeah great, thanks for the info! I reckon it was kind of like that, and I guess that's good enough for me. I'll mull it over a bit since I don't have an income atm, but it's potentially cheap enough to get it anyway and feel better about my consumption haha

So much that I watch on YouTube is just trash and the other stuff I actually enjoy seems to be mostly by creators on Nebula. I'm always hesitant to add another subscription, but would love to be persuaded. Any Nebula fans out there? Can you tell me the pros and cons of the platform?

Actors that play in manga or game adaptations that get interviewed about the source material even though they clearly don't know that much about it is so awkward

The man-at-arms story encounter in DD2 is a really good example of narrative through mechanics. You're commanding a squad of soldiers and have skills to Inspire! supposed to give buffs, but instead it just breaks their courage. All the soldiers die and are replaced while you're cowering at the back.

Interview with Daan – Developer of Bibidi Bibidi
Interview with Daan – Developer of Bibidi Bibidi In this episode of Indie Neighbor, I talk with indie developer Daan, co-creator of the wizard-themed roguelike deck builder Bibidi Bibidi. Instead of trying to make the most complex or strategic deck builder, Daan and his team are focused on creating a “surprising” experience — combining playful, c

I super understand most critique about Darkest Dungeon II. It's still a pretty decent game, but I reckon it would've been better off being a spin-off instead of a direct sequel.

People don't "peak in highschool", they were just never taught the tools for emotional growth and introspection.

Oh yeah for sure! And I'm not necessarily against risk management + randomness in games or anything, but the fact that the aesthetics are also being co-opted feels like we're closing the gap between games and gambling

I'm kind of wary of the rise of gambling themed/slot-machine esque roguelikes popping up. I get why it does well, but I fear the implications of associating fun not only with addiction, but also aesthetics specifically designed to keep people addicted.

Many young people want to become influencers/content creators. Partially because of the constant built-in validation? But moreso I think people just long to be autonomous. Free to make your own hours, pursue your interests and some semblance of financial independence are a fine promise indeed.
