all this to say, I wonder if winds and waves will have its own new symbol system, I haven't looked much at the trailers but it's possible they made a brand new one for this region

it's interesting because sinnoh seems to still use the language from old hisui, while in kanto they use similar but not quite the same one, kitakami uses a very similar one to hisui as well, maybe kanto just uses something like katakana and hisui uses mainly kanji but with its own symbols ofc

I like that one detail that's consistent across the switch era of pokemon games is the use of a made up written language that matches the vibe of each game, the regions base in irl europe share similar symbols with many types of accents and completely different words just like in real life

something that really works with this style is the updated models with defined eyes and mouths they've been using since legends arceus, I kinda prefer these to how they looked in sword and shield with textures for details, makes them feel a bit more dynamic
