Nai’s side especially. Without discussing abuse, his character arc falls apart completely—as evident in the show. Without abuse, Legato’s story became that of a willing zealot. The story of plants has no pay off when there is no juxtaposition of the past to a promise of brighter future.
Thinking of stargaze again. What a loss. It’s just that one can’t untangle abuse from trigun and still call it trigun. Without touching abuse as a core theme, none of the character motivation nor their development add up
