The Webmaster's Guide to Search Engines and Directories

30 years ago, I published The Webmaster's Guide To Search Engines. I've dug up & dusted off my old HTML files to make the guide available again. Take a trip back to the '90s web & see tips for AltaVista, Infoseek, Lycos, WebCrawler & more :) dannysullivan.com/webmasters/

We're watching (and enjoying) The Testaments but also watching (for me a rewatch) The Man in the High Castle (excellent) but I have to space them out as there's only so much dystopia future we can take at one time.

Also, perhaps Tuvix might be an ideal first Star Trek episode for the new fan :)

One episode where Boimler was wearing a "Go climb a rock" t-shirt from Star Trek V, and next thing I know, we're watching the movie!

Lower Decks is a great place to start because it's fun but references many episodes in other Star Trek series that it's like a (good!) gateway drug. My oldest watched it with me, and they'd say something from Star Trek "history" and he'd be like ... wait, is that true? And off we'd watch a show.....

-- some of my favorites and where the cast and plots are more matured. Or TNG at the beginning but not to worry about skipping weak episodes. But really, perhaps best is starting with .... Lower Decks!....

I thought long & hard and suggested beginning with the original series but starting with Arena, then Space Seed, A Taste of Armageddon, The City on the Edge of Forever, The Trouble With Tribbles, A Piece of the Action & Let That Be Your Last Battlefield....

My youngest asked in the family chat what was the best Star Trek to start with, and my wife was right, I have waited for this moment!

I lost an hour in the US earlier this month with Daylight Saving Time. Now I’m in the UK & lost another hour. I irrationally feel like I’m never going to get that extra hour back. I’m like those people in Britain who thought they lost 11 days back in 1752, when the calendar was aligned with Europe.

The irony. HBO Max finally makes it to the UK, allows you to set your profile to a The Gilded Age character, but you can’t watch The Gilded Age itself on the service probably because Sky still has the exclusive rights. Maybe that’ll change soon.

It’s clearly eclectic range of things people are nearly killing themselves with at Newport railway station. Fishing poles, helium balloons, flags & selfie sticks!

Watched "Oh Hi!" on the plane and well worth catching this super funny indy movie out on Netflix, where it's streaming. Molly Gordon and Geraldine Viswanathan are wonderful in every scene.

Aside from everything else in the latest Star Trek: Starfleet Academy episode that was thoughtful and touching, it was nice hearing the DS9 theme again.

There are many things to love about Star Trek: Starfleet Academy but can we agree Kyle Djokovic is kind of an unsung hero?
