We made a map of release volume on Steam π‘the bright spots show the most common types of games that are being released by developers π
Why? It'll help you to see which trends are becoming over-crowded right now and help you find opportunities to stand out from the crowd πββοΈ

We could see developers hopping on trends left right and centre, but what if you could see when a trend was dead or dying, and where new trends were emerging?
That would be quite helpful wouldn't it?!
So we used our Steam Map to make 3 maps of current trends on Steam... and now they're yours π
Dive or Die: Children of Rain is starting a new trend on Steam...
When we investigated this bright spot on our map of current trends on Steam, we didn't know what we'd find, but now it all makes sense!

After recording this piece of Newsletter bait, I sang my heart out to Chappell Roan's Subway

We noticed a bit of a trend in a lot of upcoming indie interior design games - so many developers have opted to use an isometric style, but why?

There's more to House & Home games than just interior design ... cleaning games are a bit of a hot trend right now!
But why do we all love virtual cleaning with games like @powerwashsimulator.co.uk so much?
Interior design games can be more than just placing objects, like @whisperofthehouse.bsky.social by GD Studio
IKEA seemed like the most natural place to talk about House and Home Fest this week (not sponsored, we just love IKEA)

Why would we make a map of every game on Steam? πΊοΈ
Originally, it was to prove a point π we didnβt believe what people on reddit, YouTube and in the media were saying, that Steam was oversaturated and all hope of becoming a successful game developer is lost π«
The best part of working on your own thing is you can just build it, no need to ask the PM, raise tickets, wait for sprint planning, watch it get deprioritized in refinement, and then die in the backlog π«
