It’s truly so lovely.
The pollinators get all over!
A few years back I rewilded part of our yard with native species.
This is probably 1000 square feet. Had milkweed, bee balm, purple poppy mallow, two types of primrose, Indian blanket, mullein, yellow sweet clover, engleman daisy, white top, bluebonnets, wild petunia and more!

So I’m officially calling today @scribeofhades.bsky.social appreciation day. This man is one of the kindest, funniest, most talented humans I’m lucky to know. I just finished yet another of his books (not pictured), and I am once again blown away by his storytelling. He makes it look so easy. 1/3

A review from Neil McRobert: Now and then you come to a book that is entirely singular. A book that takes all the inescapable Gabriel’s and melts them into a bright new shining alloy. The Library at Mount Char is one, The Raw Shark Texts is another - and now we have Daytide. It’s punk, it’s epic, it’s hilarious and heartfelt and shatteringly sad, and it is also one of the greatest feats of speculative world building I’ve ever read. The tone pirouettes all over the place, and for so much of the story you REALLY don’t know who to root for and who to despise, but in the end the heart finds a way. I loved this book more than anything I’ve read in a while. It reminded me WHY I read. Glean on you rock n roll angel.
Woke up to see this on DAYTIDE from @talkscaredpod.bsky.social.
DAYTIDE is currently available on audio, and there is a small pile of illustrated, limited editions still available from @rapturepublishing.bsky.social.

Fuckin Angels. Fuckin crazy priest. Fuckin turpentine.
Fuckin awesome!
Review text: Daytide fundamentally changed me. Have you ever met a dread that perfectly compliments your own? That’s this story for me. I cannot possibly hope to summarize this book as succinctly as the description already does but… here goes: The Longing, a self-ending psychological outbreak, is sweeping the world. Most choose a convenient or clean method. Kaya went metal. Kaya chose fire. Her bereaved friend, Adam, meets a priest who claims to have a cure for the Longing. From there, it’s all flames and birds, baby. This was a breathtaking (and often painful) story of redemption, betrayal, and grief. A cocktail of agony and beauty. Even though it’s seeped in loss and tragedy, there’s a grace to the darkness that I found myself wanting to cocoon inside it.
An excerpt from a new review for DAYTIDE. Check this out.
There are dwindling copies still available at @rapturepublishing.bsky.social and it's available on audio as well.

Chris Panatier @scribeofhades.bsky.social is such a great storyteller!
THIS! BOOK!!!!
Holy shit. This book had me STRESSED. It’s so tense. It’s wound so tight. It challenge tropes, it reflects on family, it is full of danger and cruelty and intrusive thoughts and everyone just doing their fucking best. I’m exhausted. I might burst into tears. I might burn everything to the ground. This book is incredible. I don’t remember the last time I felt so MUCH while reading.
So @ryinwonderland.bsky.social hit me last night with this review for WORRY BOX! If you know Ryan, you know her taste is *impeccable* so this is your hint to run to @gibsonsbookstore.bsky.social and preorder it right here: gibsonsbookstore.com/search?q=wor...

This should keep me busy for a few days.
Starts out strong with words of wisdom.
Don't drink turpentine!
I really appreciate you saying that.
