When force is treated as a default response to mental health crises, the outcome can be irreversible. The risks are well known and ignored. Read more at www.anticop.com.au/blog/tasers

In 2013, British police fired a Taser at Andrew Pimlott, a man experiencing a mental health crisis who had doused himself in petrol. He was set on fire and died five days later. An inquest found the Taser to be the most likely cause of ignition.
Tasers are often framed as a safe or preventative tool in police responses to crisis. In situations involving flammable substances, they can instead escalate risk with fatal consequences.
We should note that although nitrous oxide use in hospitals is safer, it's not completely safe - no drug is. Even with adding oxygen in, there is still a risk that the patient doesn't get enough oxygen, especially children. So patients still need to be monitored.
Are nangs legal or not? Nitrous oxide is a widely used recreational drug in Australia, but its legal status is murky.
NSW Police have a recruitment stall for young kids at the Easter Show - why is this normalised?
The NSW Police Public Affairs Branch employs 89 people with your money, but those jobs are under threat if they cut corners with AI. Justice for police propagandists!
NSW Police have a well-documented culture of bigotry, so why would giving them more power to decide what we can and can't say help anyone?
While Minns is trying to criminalise pro-Palestinian slogans, the cops let genuine anti-semitism slide.
Minns won't even release the review of racial vilification laws that his own government commissioned - we're guessing because it doesn't support his pro-Israel agenda.

Which side are you on, Luke?
Eight feminist, anti-genocide activists have been arrested after Victorian Trades Hall Council secretary Luke Hilakari called the cops on them for draping an apron on the statue of Zelda D'Aprano, and painting slogans on the ground.
We'll be documenting the experience and producing several videos on drug prohibition, roadside drug testing, the Hemp Embassy's approach to campaigning and more. But the stall, printing, and travel costs add up so please donate to help make this trip possible!

We have a stall where we will be distributing information on people's rights with police, particularly when it comes to sniffer dogs, drug possession and roadside testing.
Police will be blockading the roads and drug testing drivers, but the huge number of participants has led to a truce in town, with police (usually) not harassing smokers.
We're heading to Nimbin MardiGrass! On May 1 every year, thousands of people converge to celebrate cannabis culture and campaign for law reform.

Chris Minns's goons are still harrassing people weeks after the police riot in Sydney on February 9.
No cops have faced any consequences for their violence, but as the police media release notes, 16 more anti-genocide protesters have been charged since the initial round.
Thank you!

'An abusive undercover cop [Rob Hastings (who used the fake name ‘Rob Harrison’] who one expert called “misogyny personified” is facing scrutiny at the long-running Undercover Policing ‘Spycops’ Inquiry.'

I've found my original account in Honi Soit, plus the cover featuring the moment before he moved his hand down to my throat. The shirt says "Peter Kropotkin" lol.

Why I'm anticop - there are good academic reasons to oppose the police, but for me it's personal
One thing that sucks about Bluesky as opposed to X, The Everything App, is the lack of attn to #spycops; a saga largely ignored in AUS, but which I think provides a fascinating insight into the lengths the state will go to in order to infiltrate, discredit, & disrupt 'progressive' social movements.
Police and prosecutors knew this gang never existed, but lied to a grand jury to secure an indictment.
Some protesters have now received compensation, but there are no consequences for the lying cops.
Protesters chanted "all cops are bastards", so the police falesly claimed they were part of the "ACAB Gang" which is as dangerous as the Hell's Angels, Crips or Bloods.
Unauthorised interception of phone or internet activity can result in a prison sentence if you're a civilian. But don't hold your breath waiting for these cops to face consequences.
