Why did you wait so long to charge Mazi Smith? The treatment of UofM athletes reeks of favoritism, so why should we vote for someone who has appeared to favor those with ties to people or institutions you like?

Before joining the church, I was rarely involved in organized religion. I did something called Awana as a child, but it left little impression on me. I’m sort of in between there, and the Catholic Church’s teachings are really the only formation that I have had, which cuts towards your point.

I think the RCIA process helped change my worldview to caring more about the poor and helping others, actually, but I think for many people, especially those who were already politically aware, your point is very valid.

You let Mazi Smith off the hook for long enough to benefit UofM football. That wasn’t justice for the community. It was almost as bad as the Trump DOJ.

The way he handled the Mazi Smith case was despicable. He would fit in with the Trump DOJ.

His handling of criminal cases against University athletes is Trump DOJesque See Mazi Smith case. Hard no. Ask the University police how they feel about him and who he uses his office to protect.

So, is going to Mass now an act of resistance against Trump?

On a more serious note, this does show the necessity of a big-tent single-issue pro-democracy coalition. Autocrats lose when anti-authoritarianism is the opposition-uniting priority, and win when they can play divide and conquer on lesser issues.

Anyone else disappointed that Kinzonger didn’t bust through the wall like the Kool-Aid man?

I know this is some highly personal shit I post here, but I am venting and I’m 99% sure nobody I know in real life follows me so it’s a bit cathartic and I don’t have to put any emotional baggage on anyone.

He is also has ASD which makes navigating everyday even more difficult. He has handled everything like a champ though, and I couldn’t be more proud him.

I think I feel saddest for him because he has gone through so much trauma in 11 years: (1) being adopted and the issues that causes; (2) being physically abused at school by a teacher; (3) being sexually abused by a student at school leading us to move to a new town; (4) and now losing his mother.

My 11 year-old son wants to go back to the hotel in Chicagoland where we stayed for his partial hospitalization psych program for 2 months. I guess he just really loved the breakfast and watching me harass the ICE/CBP agents.

Happy to see my wife return home from her trip with our daughter to the Mall of America. I’m glad that the two of them were able to do a trip together one last time. Her plan is to do one final trip with each of the kids.

Worst fucking call of all time. Just terrible.

MSU Hockey loses, MSU basketball loses, Maddie’s hockey team has 4 skaters decide to skip USA hockey nationals for Spring Break, and the wife starts hospice care. Such a terrible fucking week.
