Hey, I wanted to make a quick video talking about some of the issues I found while replacing placeholder assets in Subvert the Panopticon. Check it out if you want a tip for 2D game development. Will probably have another one to make soon!

Gonna have to check the demo out later!
Also trying out some animations for robots that are carried off. I think the limp dangle is spookier but the indignant screaming is funnier.

I've been working on replacing some placeholder assets. Here are the bots with new updated sprites and animations. Wanted a "little guy going about his errands" vibe

I think I'll always like the "character with a void for a face" archetype
New update for Subvert the Panopticon on @itch.io
Addressing some common feedback so far. One of which was that the game was easy enough to avoid using the stealth mechanics, so I added a hard mode! Good luck!๐

Today's the last day to get Project Scrapper for 100% free before it leaves early access tomorrow with a $1.99 price tag! Grab it now, keep it forever and let me know what you think of it!

2 days left and boy do i feel stressed

Project Scrapper is leaving early access with a $1.99 price tag! As of now, it feels very close to what I planned for the game - a small game to waste some time with friends if only for an hour or two! Read the full announcement here!

Been very busy with working on bot players! Finally, got them able to move the tokens for the collection game mode semi-consistently. Just needs some general polish! #singleplayer #progress #indiegame #indiedev #gamedev #multiplayer #cute #PC
Something that I forgot to mention yesterday is that I made the pathfinding asynchronous, so as the bot thinks on its next move, it doesn't deadlock the game like you see here. #progress #indiegamedev

Are the mechanics of the game confusing, would be interested in playing this? A demo or the fulll game?

I got lost a bit during the skip to level 17, but figured it out quick enough after watch the clip a few times. I'm sure there's a lot in those interim levels to help teach the new mechanics. Would love a demo to try myself though
Further testing on the object transportation pathfinding, now on some of the current maps. Here the bot is just trying to find a path to get the red square to the blue square. The green nodes are interim points that have line of sight to the start, end or another interim point. #indiegame #solodev
Testing out object transportation logic for bot players. Here it's trying to get the block to the other side of the wall (and not knock itself over in the process). Not super robust right now, but it's a great start!

At a player's request, I'm switching focus over to adding bot players, so players can play by themselves against them. Dusted off what I had so far, and started adding logic to navigate to objectives. Off to a better start than I expected!

Yes, good point! After trying some things out, I like this bold one. Also trying out a tiling effect to capture the modular design of the levels' walls. May not keep it, but I think it's adds to the stylization. Also considering using a pixely or console font to convey the robotic theming
A week ago, Project Scrapper got a new VFX update to add some more visual feedback. Also new main menu with more colors!
Thoughts?
