no. we’re not allowed nice things Tom. only endless taika watiti films where people say “piss” a lot. i tried listening to the audiobook version with biehn and henriksen but abandoned it before halftime. one day i shall re-visit.
musing over this weeks discussion, and, for my part, i’m always pleased when Michael Biehn rocks up. I saw the terminator at faaar to young an age and loved it and he’s been wedged in my brain ever since. He popped up in the mandalorian and i think it gave me a dopeamine hit.
Just learnt that my new book will be held in the library at the Sixth Floor Museum (the former Texas School Book Depository). Obviously, I’m insanely happy about this.
Aaron ramsey’s insta post regarding his retirement from football effective immediately.

A bunch of dvds but (crucially) two copies of johnny english reborn for reasons i can’t remember and am too afraid to ask.
I’m fairly certain i’ve already asked but i’m reluctant to ask a second time, but for reasons i can’t remember, my mother in law has two copies of Johnny English Reborn on dvd.
Good god this feels like a funeral. Absolute misery of a match #WALNIR
Could do a series based solely on 80s welsh footballers

Here's something for the Irish Times in which I try to explain what's about to happen in Welsh politics. Hope it's of interest.

my predictions rarely come to fruition, but i very much fancy man city so put your house on arsenal. hardly a birmingham 2011 level prediction but the odds on man city are weirdly long for such a decent xi. 0-2.
A metal sign advertising Kenworth Trucks used in Licence to Kill. Timothy Dalton and Pam Bouvier doing the heavy lifting.
Not forgetting the metal sign i bought on vinted for my best man. superb.
Me holding a Timothy Dalton wooden spoon
The Prater at Vienna from Living Daylights (and other non Timothy Dalton films)
The opera house in Vienna where Kara Milovy pretends to be a sniper in the living daylights. Vienna doubling for Bratislava
The flat opposite the Vienna opera house whereTimothy Dalton sexily uses a sniper rifle. Vienna doubling for Bratislava.
Penblwydd Hapus to my great love.

Sinners deserves Best Cinematographer simply for the fact that it's a modern movie where you can tell what's going on during all the night scenes

“That” dive at the end of TOTK. Snowboarding in Twilight Princess sticks in the mind as well.
Read all the ones you mention, only other i can think of is Solo by william boyd. It was a while ago so my memory is fuzzy but i think i enjoyed it. The horowitz ones are the best non fleming bonds though. Also did not care at all for the kim sherwood one.
Making hiss-tory! The Snake Boys Show is here!
Next door are getting new windows put in and the van reveals the company they’re using are called “Suburban Windows”, which is probably why i’ve been singing 🎶 Sub-Urban Windoooows🎶 to the tune of “Suddenly, Seymour” for the last hour.
“We get sent so many sitcoms set in escape rooms / battle reenactment societies / vape shops / board game cafes…”
Make one, then.
Make ONE.
Me nose to nose with a black cat because i’m needy. The less sociable cat watches on.

Superted, Spottyman and Blotch walking on a pavement in Cardiff. There is a distinctive wall to the left with a turret motif and a road to the right.
Google Maps screenshot of Cardiff. The wall of Cardiff castle is on the left , then there is a road and the Angel Hotel on the right. It matches the previous image.
Superted, Spottyman and Blotch on a pavement, seen from the side. There is a wall with a stone animal in front of them and a castle behind them. Superted's rocket is parked in the castle grounds.
The same image taken from Google Maps in November 2022 but without the rocket.
Kicked off St David's Day watching Superted's 1980s road safety videos and matching them to their actual locations in Cardiff.
