We'd be curious to know if any pubs out there aren't using the Adobe Cloud suite and if so how has the interaction with factories been using other, potentially free layout software?

We use GDocs for the text side, then when ready crack open InDesign for layout. But we always keep a raw GDoc version updated so we don't have to pull the text back out later.

We are a small publisher / two people and we would never take the stance that gen AI tools would help us. We second this notion that if you are trying to pay artists, you'll find a way, if what you're making has an audience. People want human-made art!

Congrats on the launch of Moonlight! The game looks amazing mechanically. I sincerely hope in the future you'll reconsider using generative AI. I understand you're an independent operator and art costs seem like a frustrating expense. But regardless of the post AI human touch and the check that it doesn't outright copy existing art, both the sourcing the AI system uses and the environmental impact of those systems are really awful. I know you know this and don't want to hear from a stranger (though I am a backer of previous work) but I would love to be able to support your work in the future. All the best.

As an avid supporter of print-and-play roll-and-write #BoardGames, I'm dismayed by the increase of "AI art" used by the designers.

This is what I sent to a designer today. So bummed, the game looks good. But there are lots of good games coming out and I'll toss my $ at those not using AI "art".
