Many devs have always misunderstood css. They’ve never bothered to really learn it and things like react screw it up even more.

It is absolutely due to Liquid glAss. The adoption would be much lower, but I have never seen as many nag prompts to “upgrade” that are intentionally made hard to dismiss as I have with this version. I finally got fooled into upgrading one device and would definitely roll back if I could.
Text formatting can have different intents and uses. Your regular paragraphs certainly are more about telling a story and setting a mood. The heavily formatted text is much easier to scan and refer to repeatedly which is needed in RPG.
Really wish Figma’s browse version history allowed jumping back a whole year at a time. Super tedious clicking “Show Older” hundred times. 😖
Which is why I am pretty sure they did invest so heavily in Make. Turning things in to actual code at least allows for true interactions to be created.
Figma’s prototyping is filled with idiosyncrasies. One of the main things when transitioning between two states is both components need to be identical including layer names and even don’t delete hidden contracted layers. There’s so much functionality, but it is so easy for it to break.
Showing just Safari’s bottom address bar in the selected state
More iOS 26 complaints… Safari’s address bar is now a minimalized, condensed mess.
Welp, finally forced to degrade to iOS 26. Bought some new AirTags and they wouldn’t pair with the phone unless I updated. LiquidGlass is just garbage. Even with reduced transparency everything looks glorpy.
I’ve seen other ads like this and I’m afraid to even click the “No”. Clearly they’re unethical enough to do this, they’d make tapping no still install some garbage.
It really is just an overall failure and they refuse to admit it and refuse to offer proper accessibility options. They really gave up on usability and accessibility.
Trying out Ubuntu 25 desktop and I have to say they have greatly improved the UX. Migrating a system that can’t upgrade to Windows 11. If you don’t need MS-Office, it really can do everything you would need it to do.
Very nice… But it doesn’t carry through to the detail pages. I would also expect to see photos of both dark and light in a gallery on the detail pages. Also not sure how I like the sticky header with the ghost style menu button. Otherwise, overall very elegant work.
Not supported in Firefox. 😟 I really don’t understand the web API if all browsers aren’t going to be supported. Why would any dev trust using this?
Well, not being able to read the article because its member only, I can only comment that I would not trust the output of algorithmic state colors If that is part of what is being suggested.
This is the first time I am holding off updating in over two decades.
It’s not just that, you also have uneven spacing throughout. Maybe the gap between the p and R is somewhat intentional, because they felt the capital R didn‘t set that apart enough? But it is just wrong. I assume the next admin will rename it after themselves if it continues to operate at all.
I too was like, what crappy kerning.
I’ve been holding off on updating because I just can’t believe they went ahead and released such garbage.
The person whose bonus and performance ranking are based on increased video watches. Doesn’t say anything about audio.
So much agree. I’ve built a nice interactive dropdown component in our library using variables. However, I had to write lengthy instructions on how to set up local variables and rewire them so that the selection will work in designer’s local file.
We do not refer to designer or dev beyond what you need to get started. The content for components is divided into usage and code tabs. There will be times where a designer is interested in looking at code and devs need to understand usage. Labeling things for the role just did not make sense.
I do not want to talk to my pc! There are too many places where people in public are already annoying by talking loudly on their phones or playing media without headphones. Please no.
Been working on a website redesign for our design system. It’s built with sass and uses flex. I’ve forgotten how much I hate these. Everything is split across 10 files. Just a pain figuring out where something is defined.
I really liked Publii for its simplicity. I did not like having only the app to edit and there being no iPadOS option. I really do not like Hugo, 11ty, and a bunch of others for the complexity. Wordpress also has gotten way too complicated and they ruined the editor.
I went out of my way to include a wireframe mode for one of our theme modes along with light + dark modes. It uses handwritten fonts, thickens borders & removes color except for the primary interaction. We encourage designers to start & stay with the wireframe mode until they are ready for dev.
Wordpress has become a mess. I really dislike the block editor. I purposely went out of my way to find something simpler for my brother-in-law’s website.
Linkedin promotion for playing a game in their app.
WTF LinkedIn, just no. If it’s not adding and pushing AI where it is not needed, then it’s adding arcade games to apps. Keeping the score private is no comfort.
Don’t get me started on using a calendar picker for birthdate selection.
They are not going to get 2 people doing the work of 20 by using AI. And what they do get will be of a much lower quality. They just don’t care about their users or their employees any more.
They did this intentionally or was one of the ads taking over? Otherwise, yeah, no surprise in the drop in traffic.
