I've considered trying to grab some of the #Battletech "Unseen" that are basically Dougram mecha in miniatures form, but they are often quite expensive on eBay.

I first noticed gaming miniatures while browsing kits like this. #Revell did mecha fans a huge service licensing these and bringing them to the US back in the day.

I tend to prefer mechs like this to some of the ornate Gundam kits.

Warm take: tired of #miniatures with a rifle in one hand and a pistol or huge melee weapon in the other. Are there no holsters, slings, or personal storage for secondary weapons in the future?

Mantic models: a Nightscreech (a squid like monster with extra mouths and visible brain) and a Banshee (looks vaguely like a woman in a form fitting dress but with a split open head with a maw of teeth inside).

I'm making progress for #WhenNightmaresCome. This #ManticGames Nightscreech is mostly done, and it's going to be the Atrocity (big boss) of the campaign.

Value sketched greyscale (drybrush then manual work), then #Speedpaint on top.

The Banshee next to it is a miniboss, and no slouch either 😬

#miniaturespainting has stalled, but I'm getting ideas for scenarios, so that's something.

I'm just not feeling social media at the moment.

Also got #WarzoneEternal on the table again on Saturday, and I think my friend liked it enough to play it again. Me rolling really high (badly) on all of my armor checks probably didn't hurt 😅 Wish I could roll like that in D&D!

#SwordWeirdos is a great game and you should be playing it.

The Weirdos engine is my top pick for convention games because it's very easy to pick up and has a lot of room for homebrew.

A side note for my #miniaturespainting #miniaturepainting people: sometimes when gluing a tiny bit to a larger one, it's easier to keep the large piece on the sprue.

Fun fact about me: my very first time trying D&D, my character failed to defeat four giant frogs, and one ate him.

I don't remember if that was a fair fight for a Level 1 Fighter/Magic-User. I was probably supposed to avoid them. He tried; I was too young and impatient 😅

This WIP was only a few years ago. Look how nice I got the casing of his flamethrower (the wonderfully named Gehenna Puker).

Not award winning or anything, but I am very happy with it.

Right now? I'm lucky not to botch the basecoat too badly 😓

I think it might be time to grab some Reaper Bones and relearn how to paint, starting with the absolute basics. Anything outside of basecoat, wash, or drybrush (sometimes) just fails. #miniaturespainting

Finally got #WarzoneEternal on the table. It's so nice to play a game that flows so smoothly. Once you are familiar with the d20 roll-under based tests, everything just...makes sense.

It hits the nostalgic notes while providing a fast, tactical game...even when those nat20 critical failures hit 😅

Malifaux 1st Edition models are more evidence that hand-sculpted models have a charm and personality that modern plastics and STLs often lack. It's not just Oldhammer nostalgia.
