In 2021 these very small margins were enough to cost the Scottish Greens at least 2 MSPs. Small margins can have massive consequences when AV systems like D'Hondt are successfully gamed.

In the years since, McConnachie has been asked if his words then still represent his views today. He has confirmed that they do. From the Herald on 5th August 2018, and the National on 6th July 2023.
McConnachie went further. During his subsequent fight with UKIP (for whom he was once Scottish organiser and multiple election candidate) he was effectively expelled, or his membership renewal refused after writing an explicit Holocaust denial to members.

The intent of the documentary was to expose Leuchter as something of an idiot, with the actual scientists manipulated by him decrying his methodology.

McConnachie was particularly inspired by the Errol Morris documentary 'Mr. Death' about Fred A Leuchter, a cod scientist who's shoddy report was used in various Holocaust denial trials.

Note the words 'scope' and 'mechanisms (e.g gas chambers).
I do worry that some people overuse terms like Nazi or Fascist to describe anything they disagree with, and that this can devalue these descriptions. To paraphrase Godwin's Law "The only thing you should compare to the Holocaust is the Holocaust" to which I fully concur.

Of the 8 Independent Green Voice candidates at least 5 are either UK a Force For Good activists (Alistair McConnachie, Max Dunbar, Megan Burns) repeat donors (Richard Tallach) or interact with them frequently on socials (Ian Inkster)
McConnachie is sole director of AFFG and founder / leader of IGV
The story is that notorious spoiler party lead candidate in current election raises funds in a way he openly boasts circumvents Electoral Commission scrutiny. "Our Crowdfunder runs until the day before the election. However, money clears into our account from this Crowdfunder campaign every week."
