Yeah that’s the barrier with most renewables. It’s just so expensive. We installed ours 6 years ago when doing renovations and the house didn’t have oil. Shudder to think what it would cost today!
This is the set I have. The pellets are stored in the box and the feeder fills the burner. The box holds about 20 odd 10kg bags of pellets. I don’t usually keep any in the garage. We’ve a portable thermostat/controller in the house set to whatever temp we want the house at.
I’ve an Atmos boiler with the wood pellet burner attachment. We can burn coal or wood in the boiler but stick to the pellets. No OFCH or back boiler.

ESB seem to have defaulted most faults to 5pm Saturday for restoring power. That means some will see power back before it but many may not see power until after that. So you may want to prepare for longer outages and don’t rely on that timeline.
