Leon Müller and Adelina Bärligea attended the 3rd International Workshop on Quantum Software-Engineering Tools, Algorithms & Verification in Bern, Switzerland, where Leon presented our latest work:
“PauliEngine: High-Performant Symbolic Arithmetic for Quantum Operations” (arxiv.org/abs/2601.02233)

Last week, two of our PhD researchers, Oliver Hüttenhofer and Adelina Bärligea, attended #QIP2026 in Riga, Latvia — one of the world’s leading conferences in quantum information science and computing. They presented their ongoing research at poster sessions and had great exchange with the community.
Our neighbour, Michael Seufert, and I gave our (belated) inaugural lectures on Monday, 26 January 2026, providing an overview of our chairs activities over the past years.
We enjoyed the deep dive into these diverse topics and the great evening of academic exchange with our colleagues and friends.
We were honored to be invited to the state reception "100 Years of Quantum: From Theory to Transformation". It was a wonderful evening meeting inspiring people, learning about diverse research areas, and forming new connections.
Had a great time at MQSF 2025, with many inspiring talks and the opportunity to present our software packages FrayedEnds and Sunrise in the Software Pitch Session, addressing the one-body and many-body aspects of fermionic systems. #MQSF
QuICS Hartree fellowship application is out! A competitive and completely free-range postdoc. Anyone interested in quantum science and technology topics is encouraged to apply, preferably by Dec. 1. umd.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/en-US/UMCP/j...

Back at NMQC—this time in Berlin! Thanks to Florian Bischoff, Luca Frediani and Michal Repisky for organizing a fantastic conference!
Great talk by Oliver Hüttenhofer, and posters from Timo Scharfe and Thuy Truong. Fabian Langkabel presented our joint work on fully-variational quantum algorithms!
chance to work with a true visionary

Great to be in Copenhagen for the Conference on Quantum Computing in the Natural Sciences – thanks to the organizers Phillip Jensen and Lasse Kristensen!
Measurement repetition remains a challenge for Variational Quantum Eigensolvers. To address this, Davide developed a new method that achieves 30% to 80% better performance compared to state-of-the-art techniques when simulating molecular systems.

Great opportunity!
Your chance to work with someone who has almost infinite knowledge about computational chemistry and the essential intuition behind the methods. Also working at one of the top universities in Europe as a benefit on the side.
Great opportunity here

Please share widely... and Merry Christmas!
Cool! Also best to Graphic ever
One week left to apply to this position in my group.
Amazing work from Eduarda and a cool collaboration. Had a lot of fun when visiting Vienna
