As is tradition.
Hell, *I* feel better and I'm not even the ones eating cheese!
I think I'm calling these Chimera socks, because they're nothing if not a hybrid mashup of several other perfectly normal socks, smashed into a single weird pair.
Well, half-pair for the moment.
So, I have thoughts:
-The basic world premise is *fantastic*. I love it and want a book trilogy, like, NOW.
-It does have strong Black Company vibes (naming is On Point for that), but also very Monstrous Regiment from Discworld.
-Finick's voice actor deserves a freaking award for that performance.
There is something maddening about AI breaking tools that USED TO WORK! I want to wander the streets raving "spell check used to know things! You could google answers to questions!"
It already reads as "These Swords make women want you", so...yes.
Fiction podcasts aren't my go-to, but you're right that it's giving Black Company vibes and sounds intriguing. I've got a couple of hours to kill tomorrow while my car's in the shop so it will be a good time to give a listen. Thanks for the recommendation!
Determinative nominism?
OH MY GOD YES.
On at least one occasion I have downloaded the French transcript of a video update (from our C-suite), back-translated it to English, and read the entire half page video text in less than the 7 min video run time.
And if it's a tutorial, I should be able to print it out.
Aka the people who need a whole-ass artificial intelligence to tell them...er, ✨inspire them✨ to order coffee at a coffee shop.
How can people worry about gender when perogies exist?
Correcting my typos while I am in the middle of fixing them myself just results in me deleting or typing over the *now correct* word(s) and being very annoyed at all parties involved.
Canada: always smaller than you think for how big it is.
(True for every industry, not just music)
Welcome to the Night Sky from 2007 is probably my go-to Wintersleep album, but there's so much good music in their catalogue that you're in for a treat! They've also overlapped members with Holy Fuck for maximum CanCon. :)
I'm on 65 g of yarn which is getting tight even for ankle socks, so am planning to go with a bit of a slip stitch pattern (similar to this www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib..., but less well planned, lol).
Stashing your suggestion away for later, though, so thank you!
Thank you for this reminder to catch up on Wintersleep, I'm a couple of years behind. My grad school lab mates from the East Coast introduced me to them in the early 2000s and it's the gift that keeps on giving. <3
6 balls of fingering weight yarn in various sizes and colors, including dark blue, sweet potato orange, forest green, and three variegated yarns, two of which are shades of brown, and one that includes blue/green/gold/orange/white. They are resting beside a white pen for size and color reference.
And the next pull from the bag of rapidly diminishing random scrap socks is...um.
Well.
I really just stuck all of these in a bag with no weights and went "future-me can figure this out," didn't I?
Past-me has some explaining to do...
Second Sock Sunday again? My, how the weekend flies!
Another eye watering pair in cardinal red and electric blue, with marled toes. For the embroiderers, this red is a good match for DMC color 666.
Wishing a peaceful Sunday to the *other* person in the grocery store singing along quietly with the in-store music. It wasn't just me this time!
Some people wear the socks, some people make the socks. It's a great feeling on both sides! 🤣
Working on it! 🫡
I love that Wikipedia has an entire list of woods that display chatoyancy - I'm a sucker for it, which is why I bought a fountain pen turned out of curly koa wood several years ago. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chatoya...

Glad I'm not the only one who thought "...did they just say "Hey astronaut, did you press the talk button to talk?"" 🤣
Do you want a clogged feed? This is how you get a clogged feed.
In that case, apologies for blowing your cover? 😅
