The Amstrad CPC6128 edition of New York Warriors was released with both disk sides containing the first side, losing a whole side of levels! Lost for 36 years, author Fred Williams has kindly allowed Games That Weren't to release the lost full version:

This was the one and only cartridge game I owned on C64. Yes, it cost a fortune, but the instant loading made my jaw drop.
It also made sense for a game where levels could be accessed in non-linear. Go play the tape version of Night Breed and you'll see what I mean...
It's a really good conversion and one of the best of its type on the machine. I enjoyed it far more than I thought I would.
Those squashed "O" characters in the title screen font make me twitch somewhat...
Never realised this was a C16 game originally, although perhaps not surprising - Shaun was one of the few keeping that machine afloat. Devilishly difficult, but good fun too.

Hands down one of the best arcade conversions on the C64 - all the more impressive because Special FX managed to nail the controls. In fact, it was a lot more intuitive than the rotary dials of the arcade...
