Hi can you share a reproduction where the cache isn't continuing to be served after revalidate period is lapsed but expire period hasn't been? This definitely should work that way and we have test coverage around this with the new revalidateTag API which requires a second argument specifying expire
This is definitely something we're looking into!
Are you asking for stale background revalidate instead of expire foreground revalidate?
