Again - like with relationships - talk to each other about what sort of game you want, what you feel is going well, what could go better?
You can always ask me for specific advice (I love the sound of my own voice) but rarely is there a "right" answer, it's what suits YOU and your players?

Look, you have a game where the players are having a good time. You win.
Unless you aren't having a good time - in which case, have a think about that, plan an awesome ending to the campaign and learn your lessons for next time.
Every campaign is a chance to screw up a little bit less...

Are you running 5E? To be honest, I won't run above level 10 for exactly this reason, I find it impossible to reliably balance encounters without sometimes tweaking on the fly ("cheating"/"being a good GM" depending on how you look at it)
My players say they would like to play at higher levels 🤷

Absolutely agree with Phil that running a campaign is hard, especially when everyone is inexperienced.
Good for you for holding the group together! Your players are enjoying it or they wouldn't turn up.
In general players are MUCH more tolerant of running overpowered characters than you'd think:-)
