Thank you so much, this is really helpful advice and I appreciate it. I’m going to ask for a blood test tomorrow, so it’s really useful to know where to start x

Gabapentin is something a few people have mentioned so something I’m going to look into - it’s likely caused by surgical nerve damage but also I have chronic autoimmune diseases, so looking into that impact at the moment too. Thank you for taking the time to reply x

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply, gabapentin isn’t something I’ve tried so that’s definitely something I’ll be looking into as my first next step. So sorry you’ve been going through it too, it’s honestly a horror x

Hey James, I’m sorry you’ve been there, solidarity. It comes and goes, started post top surgery so likely surgical nerve damage ? Pain concentrated on my chest. I have rheumatoid arthritis. Haven’t had blood tests specific to this, GPs been generally dismissive and I haven’t known what to ask for 🥲

Does anyone who deals with neuropathic pain (nerve pain) have any advice because I am exhausted and one step away from uploading my consciousness to a server and calling it a day with the human body.

This is not my first rodeo as I’ve been struggling with it since late 2022.

For preventative/rolling treatment: hydrating well, low inflammatory food and drink, amitriptyline, taking vitamins to keep on top of any deficiencies.

For really bad flare ups I’ve tried: taking ibuprofen regularly, taking naproxen, capsaicin cream, lidocaine patches, lidocaine cream, CBD cream, swimming, St John’s wart, deep heat, deep freeze, hot water bottles, meditation, 🍃.

If there’s anything over the counter, herbal, movement based, through the NHS, through private healthcare, literally anything that you’d suggest please let me know. Medication, stretches, bathing in tumeric under the full moon, I will take literally any suggestions.

I’ve heard that flare ups can also be caused my changes in air pressure so I’m going to start to track that and see if it helps me predict them, so If there any any apps or sites people use - please let me know, but it’s really the treatment of the symptoms I need help with.
