This is true for so many infections... viral #hepatitis is a case in point - for #HCV we have fantastic, safe and curative medicines, & for #HBV a robust preventive vaccine & effective suppressive antiviral medication. We need more innovation, but education, implementation & advocacy are key. 🧪
Does anyone have serum/plasma from a cohort of (ambulatory) patients with herpes zoster (shingles) ? A small cohort would be fine. We will test if they have auto-Abs against type I IFNs, as the risk of zoster increases over 50 yo. Please RT or contact me !
Oh Barry!
A powerful US spy-tech company linked to genocide in Gaza, ICE deportations, and Trump’s war with Iran is now expanding across Europe into our hospitals, police and data systems. We must expose it and stop its expansion action.wemove.eu/sign/2026-03...
I'll be speaking at the @yefis-immunology.bsky.social webinar next week. Tune in for some mRNA #tuberculosis vaccine updates.

'Yesterday, I learned that one of my students, who applied for a Marie Curie Fellowship, did not get it. My first reaction was to ask what could be done to improve the application in the future. Then I saw the score: above 93 points!.'

Visa injustice. Listen to John Green.
Henry and others from all around the world demand that we stop and eradicate tuberculosis
And here Henry appears, recovered after many years of disease, and huge efforts by his doctors, NGOs, and in particular his mother. (She did not get a visa to come along). He is now a poet, goes to the university and enjoys life.
John Snow learnt about this devastating disease that kills more people than any other infectious disease in the world. He hasn’t stopped talking since then.
John Snow! At the Union meeting in Copenhagen. The author who wrote the book ”Everything is tuberculosis” that was the number one on The New York Times list of non-fiction books for many weeks. How he met the young boy Henry with multiresistant tuberculosis in a hospital in Sierra Leone.
Well done!
A large mushroom farm near the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, is one of a kind: It grows fungi on an industrial scale — not as food for restaurants but as a building material that some Kenyans say could make more people homeowners.
