Just had a paper returned by a journal after 3 days for not including the country in the affiliations, not including on the title page "number of tables: 0; number of figures: 0". What a waste of time...
For some reason they named it pericarditis... but I'm supportive of a change to exocarditis
aww you're too kind
the problem is that there's no imperative for PBMs, insurance, or pharmacies to ensure pts are taken care of. If insurance wants to change a covered med, it should be their responsibility to actively reach out and ensure pts have access to a covered alternative. instead it is just "reject, goodbye"
Depends on where you live. But generally it is not easy to get methadone
Awesome study. First RCT I know of specifically focused on hospitalized people with OUD and infectious diseases. XR-bupe no better than standard MOUD for OUD and ID outcomes.

@steventong.bsky.social presents the results of the PSSA domain of the SNAP ๐ซฐ trial - the worlds largest trial of staph aureus bacteremia - at #ESCMID2025
fluclox resulted in higher mortality and more AKI compared to penicillin for PSSA
Love it!!! How did you get that made?!
HIV treatment @ harm reduction organizations is the future! Avoids interacting with the traditional healthcare system as much as possible and bring treatment to the people. 79% viral suppression at 12 months in this pilot study. Multi-center RCT is ongoing @hivma.bsky.social doi.org/10.1080/0785...
Is there any reason to check HLA-B5701 or any reason to start someone on abacavir in 2025? We will need a new random ART factoid to quiz people on if this practice goes away.

Rampant housing discrimination for people with OUD in S. Florida: 16% allowed residents to be on buprenorphine unconditionally, 31% allowed bupe with dose limitations, and 53% completely prohibit being on bupe.

Make statins OTC.
New nanoformulation technique was able to turn TDF-3TC-DTG into a monthly injectable reaching therapeutic levels within 24 hrs after injection. Very exciting #idsky journals.lww.com/aidsonline/a...
For my first bsky post, an EXCLUSIVE free idea for an ID clinical trial design: Take people reporting penicillin allergy and randomize to just ignoring it and giving whatever antibiotic you think is best vs. going through whatever the standard rigamarole is at your hospital (treatment-as-usual) ๐
