Photo of John standing outside in a park wearing a furry Candian hat, a dark green zip up hoodie and blue jeans. His mouth is open, full or surprise. A red flash at the top of the image says "Autism & Kink workshop" and another red flash at the bottom give the date and time of the workshop: Sun 26 April from 7pm-9pm UK time.
On Sunday April 26th I'll be teaching an online workshop called "Autism and Kink" at 11am PDT/ 2pm EDT/ 7pm UK time. In this workshop we look at the overlap of autism and kink, along with some other neurodivergences like ADHD, AuDHD and Alexithymia. Tickets link is available at linktr.ee/JohnPendal
I have a blog post about Alexithymia. If you go to www.johnpendal.com/blog.html and scroll down to "Not Being Able to Describe Your Feelings" (13 Jan 2025) - or use "find in page" for the word Alexithymia you can see more information plus a free pdf to download.

Well deserved standing ovation at the end. I haven't heard a curtain call like it.
We'd both give it 12/10. Well worth the trip to London.
#PaddingtonTheMusical
A photo of the outside of the Savoy Theatre. Anm old London building is adorned with a brightly lit blue and red sign for Paddington the Musical, with a smiling bear's face under a bright red hat.
We saw Paddington the Paddington The Musical last night. It was one of the best things we have ever seen at the theatre. Magical and joyous.
It follows the plot of the 2014 Paddington movie very closely with all your favourite moments recreated, with added songs.
Pure love for this.
The trailer definitely gives away too much. I was surprised by how far we were into the film and I was still recognising scenes from the trailer.
We'd pay to see it again at the cinema - so a solid 8/10 from both of us.
#projecthailmary
A scene from the movie. Ryan Gosling is strapped into the pilots seat of a spaceship, surrounded by panels with yellow lights. He's looking worried.
We saw "Project Hail Mary" at the cinema last night. Brilliant, brilliant film. If you liked Gravity, Arrival or The Martian you'll love this.
It's hard to review without giving away spoilers. It's definitely better the less you know going in.
Photo of John smiling at the camera. He is wearing Bose Noise Cancelling headphones and holding up a small orange box containing Loop Engage earbuds.
I've just uploaded a new blog post, with tips and suggestions for people who struggle with certains sounds and smells: www.johnpendal.com/blog.html

We weren't quite sure what to make of it, but I'd definitely pay to see it again.
At the time we couldn't give it a score - but a day later 8/10 x
#GoodLuckHaveFunDontDie
It is mad. We spent most of the film mouthing "WFT?" at each other.
It's not a comedy, but it made us laugh several times.
Probably the closest reference I can give you is "Everything, Everywhere, All at Once." If you liked that you'll love this.
A still from the movie. Sam Rockwell is at the front, three other cast members behind him. They are looking shocked and terrified. Sam is wearing a weird plastic coat covered in electronics. The whole image has a green hue.
We saw "Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die" last night ... the new time travel film directed by Gore Verbinski starring Sam Rockwell.
The set up: a crazy look man walks into a diner claiming to be from the future wanting to save the world. Beyond that, it's best you avoid all spoilers.
