While I'm discussing futurist fantasies: I also want to see high-speed rail carrying parking lots full of cars and trucks, with access to the stations integrated into the interstate system via standard ramps ๐Ÿ˜€

I like the idea of, when they are good enough, cars requiring you to slot your license to take manual control, and that license being hard to get and easy to lose. I'd give the cars an emergency manual control that alerts emergency responders when it is used.

Their wealth is a score, ours is what we can do. Zero out their scores and nothing changes for us - all they ever gave us was our own permission back to us. The pretext that we need to get it back to give it again was always an abusive manipulation.

But they do deserve to have their scores zeroed.

They're recreating a spoiled rich child's birthday party.

Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter.

It occurred to me to check how it responded to other terms, so I searched for "doghouse fires" and "warehouse shores" and instantly got pages of search results.

I just had to try:

You inspired me to write this (though it follows a couple of old antecedent posts that might be necessary context):

It is natural that once we achieve perspective of sufficient horizon and a capacity for abstraction we turn this habit upon our own existence, to identify the meaning of our life in an effort to predict what happens after its end.

The hole that religion fills is a mirage from the root of sapience.

Right - we should take him at his word that this is representative of his ability to consume information, and every briefing he receives is understood no better.

Much harm emerges from mistaking the salacious for the salient.

I like your profile description - I've often related perspective and wisdom in a similar way, so I feel compelled to share with you my latest iteration ๐Ÿ˜€

The only assets I care about that they have are the means of production - they'll try to have them destroyed if they leave them behind, and they'll have some success at that, but I think most of those efforts will be stopped by their employees. We'll soon find that all they ever made was permission.

That part sounds nice, but there's no clear avenue of implementation, and it's not necessary (though worthwhile, if it becomes feasible).

Parts one and two are necessary and sufficient.

If the current Congress refuses then the selection of Speaker can turn the midterm into a Presidential election.

They can even take the high scores with them - the assets are staying, and we won't be awaiting their permission.

I believe there are more kinds of violence than physical, that each adopts the means available to them, and conversely that often what appears to have been the initiation of aggression is actually an overt response to a much more subtle aggression.

America's current wars are unprovoked aggression.

I like it as a default threat - if no one wins a majority of registered voters (not just the participating voters) then the position is filled by lottery from everyone who meets statutory requirements. I think the threat would cause our quality of candidates to rise.

Fun thought: the goat that became Prime Minister understood what happened to it just about as well as Cerebus when he became pope - that was Julius's Aardvark.

It always was, and the myth to the contrary was always a chain wrought by oligarchs to keep our gaze focused on our feet.

Money is the unit measure of obligation, and currency is a promise from the People to the holder. It's always been made up as needed and justified later.

Tax passive income and rent-seeking, starting at the highest level: market domination is rent-seeking on the People's opportunity, so we should disincentivize it by taxing profit proportionally to market share; eliminate the tax for market shares below ~4%, and maybe for sole-proprietorships.

France got to sacrifice a king to their Liberty - we've got to close the spiritual legitimacy gap! We need a combination guillotine/coronating-machine - the biggest crown!

Gotta reconsecrate the tree.

To be absolutely magnanimously charitable, one might imagine it's a procedural step on the way toward justifying a blanket impeachment of the whole Cabinet and VP along with the President.

I haven't been that charitable since the first time someone asked to examine my candy bar.

Federal taxes do not fund federal spending - the credit collected a tax meets the debt that created it and both cease to exist.

Dollars are society's promises, and we'll never run out.

Which is to say, there is no limit to how much he can oblige us.

The $50,000 sign-on bonus is $10,000 per year, and they're on the hook for returning it if they quit before five years.

Which is to say, they have been so thoroughly documented they have no hope of anonymity. We will hold the other ends of those hooks, and with them we will drag them into courts.

I like it!

Work the tie into it, like a bloody streak from his mouth, across the floor, turning into hellfire beneath the audience. Have the extracted souls merge into giant phalli that he strokes onto himself. Show all his little shits among the audience, pilfering pockets.

Name the work "Pride".

Someone else made and posted the picture months ago - they stole it and changed only the center figure at the top from a soldier to a slopangel for the shit's post.

The domineers hoard our opportunity, but they cannot store it, and their high scores represent our squandered potential.

We might now be a far cry from the deprivations of the Soviet Union, but not by comparison to the world we could have had if not for the Fuckening (when policy-makers assessed market domination represents increased efficiency).
