Yes you're totally right, I need to think about alternatives whenever this issue comes back! Variety will work I'm sure, it's good for the brain to try new things out, looking for inspirations or just make ugly random doodles

But there's definitely something tied to my mental too. Probably exterior factors that have nothing to do with art but they keep me away from the ability of drawing, and that's frustrating...

In fact, the biggest issue here is that it's very recurrent. I'll have periods when I draw A LOT, then I completely stop and can't draw for a while even if I would like to... I wish I knew how to make it less "extreme"
