Prof Lord Nicholas Stern, Chair of Grantham Research Institute: "I welcome the clear and strong commitment from Ed Miliband to accelerate the pace of electrification and the transition to clean power."
The core response to climate change "must be a rapid reduction in world demand for fossil fuels."

Poll: @YouGov, 19-20 Apr 2026 (+/- vs 13 Apr) x.com/LeftieStats/...
Just to be clear, the results of the YouGov poll I commissioned showed the Green Party as the first preference of 26% of respondents, and Reform UK as the last preference of 51% of respondents (weighted).
Standard voting intention polls aren't showing you the full picture.
It might not be that marginal. It's possible Labour are miles behind in public opinion and when voting intention catches up with that it will leave them completely broken.

What good would it have done if the civil servants hadn't "hidden" the vetting failure? Would the outcome differ?
Phillipson appointed Mary-Ann Stephenson as EHRC chair *despite* not one but two select committes warning her not to!
This government installs all the wrong people because it wants to.
So Gov’t & BBC News have finally decided to tell the truth about why renewables are as expensive as gas. Will they acknowledge the years of lies & disinformation? Will they apologise for the blockages & delay? Will they apologise for slandering & criminalising people who tried to point this out?

Compare:
• MPs’ Menu in Parliament: “Spanish roasted red pepper and potato tortilla with cannellini bean and courgette stew and garlic aiol” — Cost: £3.80 (subsidised by you)
• Meanwhile: 27% of NHS trusts have food banks for NHS staff onsite

Good morning, and welcome to another day of law and process being used to obscure and evade questions of politics and accountability.
Often politicians and political pundits tut-tut at issues of law and process being raised in political contexts, but many of them are happily doing it themselves.
The Politico Poll of polls shows Reform currently at 24%, the Greens and the Conservatives both at 17%, Labour at 16% and the Lib Dems at 11%. This is a huge change from the position in July 2024 at the last general election. Because of the first past the post voting system in the UK, the proportion of seats gained by each party will be very different from the percentages shown in this graphic.

Contrast Hoyle’s treatment of two MPs who accused Keir Starmer of being a liar
Lee Anderson - middle-aged white man
Hoyle’s response: measured and calm
Zarah Sultana - young brown Muslim woman
Hoyle’s response: confrontational and angry
Same accusation. Same day. Very different treatment
“Corridor care is bad for patient safety, dignity, and staff morale. We would make it a ‘never event’ so it is properly recorded and tackled.”

Got our solar panels installed this AM. They came at 8:30am and we're gone by 1:30pm. 13 panels and 10kwh battery.
We can't export to the grid yet (the network operator has been flooded with new requests) but we charged our car with the sun this afternoon. Great feeling, strongly recommend.
The PM says it is "unforgivable" that he was not informed about Mandelson failing vetting.
It is Starmer's clear lack of judgement and disregard for the victims of Jeffrey Epstein which is unforgivable. The PM must take responsibility and resign.
No one who cares about social/affordable housing supply disagrees that S106 system is less than ideal (esp. right now) and needs reform. But what are Green proposals for doing better than Labour *at local government level* from 7 May, given the situation they would inherit & have to work with?
First Past the Post can no longer deliver real mandates - only chaos. 60% of Brits want it scrapped.
Yet the Representation of the People Bill won’t even touch our voting system, which leaves millions unrepresented.
Tell Keir Starmer to change this.

Why is anyone still voting Labour? Seriously. Why?
A big fat cesspit of grift and corruption covered with a thin veneer of concern for 'the people'
The reality of the new fascism as represented by Reform and by Trump
Yes. Please do this 👇👇👇
Zelenskyy makes a big announcement: “We have already reached 10-year agreements with three key countries: Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar. We already have requests from 11 countries – the Middle East and the Gulf, plus we’re also gradually turning our attention to the Caucasus.

“Greens who were long dismissed as “idealistic” & “unrealistic” now look like hard-headed pragmatists & true patriots. They’re years ahead of their rivals in demanding a transition that makes sense on every level: environmental, economic & political” - great article from @georgemonbiot.bsky.social 👇
So true …
When will people wake up & realise that the #Tories, #Reform & now #Labour ONLY care for the wealthy & for the big, mega-bucks businesses??
They don't give a fuck we're paying through the nose for it - all they want is to make even MORE money.
That's the plan. They don't care for us.
